Katherine, your acrylic paintings are sooooo beautiful that I feel like doing this too!! 😂😂 But will keep playing with watercolors for a while. Can't spend on two mediums together. Maybe after a year..

Effect came from matte paints. Matt paintings looking more "pastel", gentle, soft. Its possible to get: 1. matte acrylic (sometimes its called acrylic gouache): amzn.to/2E8WRa0 Turner is really nice but 11 ml tubes is really small. As start set this one is perfect, also brushes there are nice. Also this set have 2 withes witch is smart! Coz white using most in any paints. They are possible to get one by one. I prefer set of 12 colors 20 ml tubes for volume: amzn.to/2C1qh88 2. matte final varnish for acrylic (personally I prefer sprays) amzn.to/2nFQ5lZ but also possible to get liquid varnish: amzn.to/2nIkP5Q Before you'll use varnish for final work - test it on small testing painting. 3. This painting is possible to paint in gouache (not acrylic one) amzn.to/2nLYTXt Ingredients of art gouache: water + gum arabic + pigment. When gouache will dry its have matte finish always, but its not water resistance. To protect final work I recommend to use matte final sealer (Plaid is nice for it: amzn.to/2nFQ5lZ - also can seal pen, charcoals, pastel) If you like matte effect I recommend you to try gouache. Royal&Langnickel is not expencive, have nice colors, easy to work with it.
