This one has hit me real hard. The Dukes of Hazzard has been my all time favorite show. Bo and Luke provided the action, Daisy provided the eye candy, but no one provided more laughter than Rosco P. Coltrane. A true legend and Icon of the 80's. RIP James "Jimmy" Best.

My parents named my pup after this man. he just passed this morning. I never knew who Roscoe was but I'm glad my pup was named after such a great character.. the personalities are almost identical. you will be missed little buddy..

Ain't no other actor's death hit me as hard since John Ritter. R.I.P James Best. You were always my favorite in the show. I would not and to this day, watch an episode that he isn't in. It just wasn't Dukes of Hazzard without him. It was like a little bit of soul was missing. He WAS the show. And always brought the best.

I saw James Best in the film "Sounder" (1972), where he played a sheriff in a serious role, and I was waiting for his Roscoe laugh to come out.

Legendary. I could watch this all day. Especially the clear resolution clips that are post 83'. If you saw this show back in the 80's, it meant that the week was done, you had eaten dinner, and Saturday morning cartoons were on in 8 hours. There were many times I remember begging my P's to bring me home in time on a Friday to see Bo and Luke Duke. Time is a thief. Fuk me.
