Not Darwin Nunez per se. But the absence of a natural finisher upfront. (Jota was injured most of the time). All 3 (Nunez, Salah & Diaz) have missed sitters all season long. If it was the Mane, Salah and Firmino of old, LFC would have 150 goals, considering the amount of chances that were created this season. Liverpool have got a far more creative midfield now, who creates down the middle(unlike the old midfield). But they've totally lost that clinical threat up front.

@@Fmfcg Think about it.. The amount of chances the old midfield created was next to nothing, all they did was pass the ball wide, left to right and right to left. Nothing EVER went down the middle. The amount of chances this team is creating is almost twice the amount of the old team. And the old team scored 100+ Goals a season... I'm being conservative with my number.

If the current team had the same conversion rate of chances to goals scored as the old team did (I did not say convert them all, i'm merely comparing the conversion rates that HAD been achieved. and i'm not talking about any other team but liverpool).... The goals scored would be double...

I’ve said the same for months. When Liverpool are winning games and Nunez misses chance after chance it’s “funny”. When you’re 1-0 down at home to Palace and he misses from 4 yards, or 1-0 down to Everton and again misses a 1 on 1 it costs Liverpool big time.

This is unfair against Darwin, he contributed with 19 goals so far (11 goals 8 assists) from the 81 Liverpool has… is almost 25%… has he missed some easy ones? Yes… but he’s improved from last season…

Liverpools recent inability to keep clean sheets is the reason the season fell apart. To much focus on the forwards.

He’s talking out his ass a per usual. Look across the front 3 and you’ll see Nunez, Salah and Diaz are all in top 10 players for big chances missed. Fine margins yes….But that’s what separates Mane, Firmino, Salah from this front 3. Clinical and ruthless. Another fact is….Too many experienced players in the squad either got injured or form dipped when needed during run in.

Was he responsible for diaz not scoring that chance vs City? Or Salah not burying his chance vs Atalanta to make it 3-2? Was he responsible for our defence crumbling to lose 3-0 to Atalanta at Anfield? Jones missing that 1v1 against palace? Yes Nunez has been wasteful multiple times this season but he's not the main reason why we failed at the final hurdle. As much as he's been wasteful he's also saved our rear end on multiple occasions e.g that last minute goal against forest, the 2 goals againts Newcastle etc
