    Some notes: 🍁Take a shot every time i say stitch 🍁 For the arm measurements section, my swatch was 10 inches in width, yet I divided it by 5. I have no clue why I did that, so I recommend taking the width of your swatch and dividing it by 2 so that you can get a larger cast on amount so the sleeve can be slightly oversized. This number can be used as a leverage point in a way so that if you want to make it larger, you know the minimum you need for your arm size. 🍁 I’m literally so bad at math so I truly hope the calculations I show works for you. Definitely MAKE A SWATCH!! I don’t want you to make the whole sweater and it not be the size you want 🙁 🍁 for the swatch, i realized i didn’t say how to figure out the specific seed stitch amount to do so i would just do 10 seed stitches, 1 stockinette, 2 reverse, an 8 cable, 2 reverse, 1 stockinette, 2 reverse, 4 cable 🍁 This pattern is the most accurate I could’ve gotten to the one she wears in the show and it is only my 2nd time making it, so hopefully you like it. 🍁I love you so much, you guys are literally the sweetest people on this earth 😀

    @ikoxun 16:05 Im sorry just a question you did 30×17=170 in fact 30×17=510 did you make 30 instead of 10 cuz I really don't get it its my first time knitting by the way so idk what to do

  • @therealdonnawagner
    @therealdonnawagner7 ай бұрын

    I'm impressed with how well this turned out despite you being bad at math. Nice work! For what you were saying at 44:38 about the seed stitch section in the center diamond, idk if this helps but my grandma always taught me to do at least 1 reverse stockinette stitch on either side of every cable so it sets it apart from other stitch patterns that might be going on. So, as soon as you end that cable, reverse stockinette, and before you start the next cable, reverse stockinette. As you're forming your first diamond and you have 2 stitches between the cables, they would both be reverse stockinette stitches rather than the seed stitch pattern beginning. Keep up the creative work and thank you for sharing! 😊

    The work you put into all of your projects is amazing!! I don’t knit but I still love watching these videos 💕 I’ve honestly tried, my Grandma was an incredible knitter and tried to teach me but I didn’t inherit her abilities at all. Even with her there to help me at every step I still couldn’t do it! Stockinette and rib stitch end up looking the same in my hands 😭 But knitting reminds me of her so I love learning about it 🥰 For fun I even tried knitting a little square while I was watching but I pulled it apart. I want to use the wool for crochet!

    Okay so I think I’ve figured out the issue mentioned at 44:00 what I’ve done is started my seed stitching on the wrong side beginning on row 6. Then on every wrong side row after I make my seed stitch section one stitch wider on both sides each time. This fills up the entire diamond with the seed stitch pattern instead of getting a cluster of knit stitches! I hope I explained that well I’m a pretty new knitter but I’ve had so much fun figuring this pattern out. 😊

    I have a question about the middle diamond~ I realized about halfway through the first diamond that I shifted my stitch markers one stitch too far over, is there a way to fix that later on or do I just go back to where the mistake was made? I stopped right before having to bring in the sides of the diamond, so it's just flared out for now.

    I personally would say to go back because even if you found a way to work through it -- the diamond will be kind of crooked or off looking and it's pretty noticeable (from experience of not wanting to take it apart to start over)

    quick question: would this be unwearable in 20 degrees??? the winter here is probably your summer... also, is there any way to make the sweater less warm? like a type of yarn,or using a bigger needle or anything? thnx hope there is!

    hi! it all depends on your yarn :) the one i work on in the video is pretty light in comparison to the chunky one i made. i would say for hot weather, you should use cotton since it’s breathable :)

    Did you have an actual pattern for this? The instructions are a bit difficult to understand but I think it would be easier if I could refer to the pattern.

    I feel so bad for just seeing your reply now ): I rewatched your video and wrote down everything and I'm in the process of knitting it right now ! I think it's because stockinette and reverse stockinette confuse me but I got the hang out it thank you!

    I’m having issues with row 7 about placing stich markers for the diamond, it seems like the reverse stiches in the middle section gets uneven after I place the stich markers 41:46 I traced back my work and the tutorial and I have done everything correctly so I don’t understand this part :( Hopefully someone can help

    hi! That part can be tricky especially if you have an uneven number in the middle. What I did when this happened with my first sweater was just do the normal pattern no matter what. So even if there is two knit stitches, I still went with the seed stitch pattern -- starting it over if I have to (what I mean by starting over is say you move your one of your stitch markers to the left & one to the right and there there is 7 stitches in the middle, but one starts with a knit stitch and the 2nd stitch is also a knit stitch, I'll automatically start with a purl stitch and then do a knit stitch so then the next time you move the stitch markers, that '2nd stitch' will be a purl stitch and it'll make it even again.) It's a bit confusing but hopefully this helps you

    @@ikoxunthank u so much! Just one more question 😅, did you block this sweater at all? When you try it on at 1:03:11 , it does not look too oversized but at the end it is quite oversized, the shoulder part seems to be flaring out as well, does that just automatically happened when we add the neck part? Thank youuuu
