Rope chains I feel like is a bigger bang for your buck. Same cost allows for a bigger chain, yet both are solid. The rope chain also has a special design that attracts light.

Okay so I agree with the Franco being a more complicated link and heavier weight and better bang for your buck but a person can't see that intricacy unless they're up close investigating with their hands or fingers. I find the Rope chain from afar looks like a more complicated linkage because its more spiral'ed which looks more confusing to the eye and detailed than just a solid thick chain as a Franco looks without further/closer investigation.

Well.. If you get tiny 1mm-3mm chains then yea, won't really matter.. But then again a chain that small, doesn't matter as much as if it was a bigger size like 4mm, 5mm ect. Also the Franco is way more sturdy than the rope, the Franco is actually linked together where as the rope is basically just soldered.

To wear with a pendant should I go with a 3mm Franco or 4mm rope?

I personally would pick the rope because it will shine way more than a franco and that's one of the main reasons I buy jewelry is for the shine. When your jewelry shines it catches people's eyes.

I prefer the flat Cuban. More angles for more light reflection. Sharp looking chains imo. I also just purchased a 31g 7mm rope bracelet. It's my only 10k piece. It was preowned but looked flawless and rarely worn. I got from the pawn shop I used to work at for $1.50 over spot per gram. Couldn't pass it up and the rope style is growing on me. Classic look and fairly sturdy too.

+benjamin loveless wow that's a great deal! You don't really have to worry, that sounds like a decent size rope bracelet. The 10kt will make it more durable as well.

I have a 3mm 24 in. rope and Franco and I think they work the best if you want to wear pendents or just by themselves.

rope is my all time fav, but i have a couple micro cubans, rounded box chain, and the franco chain as well. I love chains and pendants and just anything gold

I like em both honestly just depends on your personal budget. Either way you go tho I would definitely always recommend that you go SOLID and not HOLLOW! I heard way too many horror stories on them hollow chains breaking and being hard to repair. Take the time to save the extra to get the SOLID chain people!!!

Same thing I was thinking, the rope definitely out shines the franco but the franco looks like its a higher karat, and definitely seems higher quality than the rope but I would still go with the rope for the same reason you mentioned

Franco: for the weight and the sturdiness of the link! Can't beat the Franco tho the rope is a classic and shows more for less. Also the rope is the only round link I like with diamond cut, to diamond cut a Franco is ruining the link IMO. Just for more shine you want to take gold off the chain? It's a gold chain, it's going to shine! Like chopping off the sides of a Cadillac to try and pass it for a Corvette. Let the Franco link do it's thing, Plain Franco is best. Also the JACOJE Franco is the BEST Franco I have ever seen.. If I were to pick one chain or the best chain IMO from JACOJE, it would be the (plain) Franco. Just in general the Franco is BOSS!

The exact Franco chain I wanted was a 3.5mm 22inch 14k gold chain but after I heard that I became undecided.

Same, that's why I went with the plain instead of diamond cut, I feared it would be to boxy but it's not. Smooth af to and quality, heavy ass chain. Quality Francos man JACOJE got em.

Depends on the rope chain they definitely have heavier versions. Rope design catches more light, Franco just looks much more upscale

For me it’s hard to beat the diamond cut Franco, it’s the total package.

I recently got an 18K necklace and looking to get a desert eagle pendant. It''s easy to find if you were to search it, it is available in 10K and 14K and i'm wondering how much a difference there is in the look between 10/14 and 18K? 2mm Franco is more expensive than a 2mm rope and has more weight, but IMO looks better. Since the Franco weighs more you also have more options for different (heavier) pendants in the future.

What do you think about the herringbone chains?

Franco is more mature IMO. Usually people that wear Franco typically have a cleaner aesthetics when it comes to fashion
