I believe Watkins makes a "root beer" flavoring you could also use possibly in your whipped topping and it would take the place of the ice cream taste that comes with mixing a float🍺

I think an Orange Creamsicle pie would be good too. Could use orange soda instead of the root beer. Looks amazing!!!!

Shortbread Piecrust - oh yummy and with rootbeer float pie!!! Sounds awesome! I was so curious about Root Beer Kool Aid and had to look it up. I had never heard of that flavor and I love Root Beer!!! Here is what I found: Was there ever a Root Beer Kool-Aid Flavor? The original - came in six : Grape, Orange, Cherry, , Lemon Lime, and Raspberry. When did they stop making Root Beer Kool-Aid? was back in mid 70's. in late 70's.

I've loved (and still love) root beer floats, so I'm looking forward to trying this recipe! Thanks for sharing!

I literally just made this using an almond flour crust. Also diet rootbeer and sugar free pudding ingredients. It's in the freezer now.

Hi Catherine from another Catharine 🇨🇦😊. Thank goodness you’re not using Cool Whip! Gross stuff! Another float that is fantastic is Orange Crush pop with vanilla ice cream. Really foams up in the glass when you put the ice cream into the glass with a small amount of the pop in it. Once you have as many scoops of ice cream in as you want, then I recommend holding the glass over the sink while very slowly pour in the pop. It is sooooooo refreshing! I’m going to try this pie with A&W Root Beer, then I’ll ty one with with Orange Crush. YUM!! Thank you for hoping this recipe. 😊😊. Cathy

This is a very unique {& looks delicious} dessert. I usually like Mug rootbeer the best...

I couldn't find a shortbread crust, so I used graham cracker crust, and it was delicious!
