Shooting form ratings! Rae: Feet placement highly inconsistent; sometimes they're touching, other times she almost appears to be doing a split squat. Some use of leg strength, but mostly she's relying on her upper body, which she, herself, observes is a problem. She sacrifices more strength by beginning her shot with the ball at her shoulder instead of just above her waist, which she attempts to make up for by twisting on the release and throwing the right side of her body forward, hurting her accuracy. The angles of her arms and hand placement on the ball are respectable, but she pushes her arm forward too much when she should be throwing the ball up to fall neatly toward the basket. Could get more of a wrist flick for a prettier shot, but it's acceptable for someone who doesn't play. It appears someone has given her some training that at least part of her vaguely remembers. 2/10 Leslie: Literally the only good thing about her shot is that she's square with the basket, but she can't even get points for that because she's shooting with two hands. 0/10 Ellum: Feet too close together, hardly any use of legs though that's not a big deal for free throws 'cause he's a big boy. Elbow comes out the side a little far but not bad, looks like his left hand might be getting involved with the shot, which is a no no. Classic mistake; brings the ball up to his forehead to start his shot. Better than Rae's mistake of shooting from her shoulder, because the ball stays centered in in line with his body. Also, he can afford to sacrifice the strength because, again, big boy. Nonetheless he loses some points for form. Follow through is really nice, also needs more flick in the wrist. 8/10 Miyoung: Actually looked kind of like a real basketball shot. Feet staggered bad. Use of legs good. Body square good. Elbow position okay. Shooting from shoulder bad. Use of left hand bad but not as egregious as Leslie. No follow through, but some wrist flick. 3.5/10 Blau: Best foot placement of the lot. Doesn't get enough strength from his legs and tries to compensate by twisting into the shot, in fact he starts his shot with his shoulders squared up poorly. Elbow too far out. Left hand fine. Starts his shot from directly in front of his face instead of just above his waist. Throws the ball forward too much, perhaps partially to avoid his hat (minus points, brother what are you doing). Really strange twist of the wrist and clenched hand at the end of the shot, it makes me want to cry. 4/10
