I completely revived the battery on a 560 model by plugging the charger from the home base directly to the roomba, then left it for 2 days and now it charges like normal now. Also, I wouldn’t use a lithium battery in a Roomba that didn’t come with one, it will run fine, but there’s no circuitry for safely charging it.

The original owner of the Roomba was in an assisted living facility in 2014, so that battery had likely not been charged for 8 years. I thought a replacement battery was inexpensive enough to warrant it. I also agree, there was no way I was going to charge that Li-Ion battery inside of the 530.

As a trained robotic vacuum technician, I am here to tell you that it will not hurt it to charge the lithium ion battery in it.. I’ve done it several times

I gave the Roomba to a family friend and she ordered a battery for it.

The caster is black and white because you can look under the robot while it is cleaning and the colors will tell you if it is spinning or if it needs to be cleaned. You’re welcome! 😇

iRobot thought people would lay on the floor to look to see if the front caster was rotating? Seems odd, but I guess designers make weird choices all the time.
