ROOMBA 761 Review - iRobot Roomba 700 series

Ғылым және технология

Review of Roomba 700 series (and 650). The best vacuum cleaner is the one you will really use and this Roomba gets used every single day in my house. Even my husband, orignally a serious skeptic, quickly grew to love our Roomba. One warning: don't purchase the 645 model from Sam's Club! The price may be irresistable, but I bought 2 lemon 645 from Sams Club. Fortunately, I persevered and picked up a model 761 and never had another Robot problem!

Thanks for the review and suggestion. Being an owner of 4 pets, with hardwood floors, I think I'm gonna give this one a shot. Plus the price is currently around $300 which isn't bad.

I use our 600 almost exclusively on carpet and after equipping it with the Aerovac (then optional) fan-equipped dustbin and the aftermarket Metapo toothed dustbin door to "comb" out the adjacent rotating brush it does an excellent job. I did a little experiment -- "Hoovered" first with a fresh bag, and followed up with a run of the Roomba -- amazing what the Hoover didn't get that the Roomba does! The only drawback of the Roomba is the disassembly needed to clean things. The little spinner side brush gets impacted with hair and the brushes have to be removed frequently to clean out their bearing ends. Also, it's taken a dive downstairs once or twice because either the stair edge sensor photocell got clogged or the little spinning wheel that it sees was dirty. But none of these things is a deal-breaker in my mind. We've had the 600 for seven years and it keeps on truckin! So if you can keep kids/critters from hitching a ride and burning out the motor, it should serve you well.

Great review! You really pointed out the good and not so good points of it. My daughter has a roomba and DOES use it on the carpet (a well outdated shag). You CAN really tell that it was freshly vacuumed when it is done - and yet, I would still use a regular vacuum once a week.

Mc Kenna, why? That would be kinda silly when you have a Roomba. The Roomba mitigates you having to vacuum once a week, because it runs on a schedule 7 days a week! This is what I wrote t9 the other gal...MissPurplePotato, it can be programmed to automatically run on a schedule 7 days a week. It automatically goes home. You need to clean the waste bin out once a day, as well as tap the filters out or suck them out at least every other day. It does well on carpet. You do ‘t need to vacuum hardly at all if you let it run 7 days a week. We’ve had ours for about 2 years and love it. Oh yeah...Zeena (that’s what we named her) goes under places and cleans where you normally wouldn’t vacuum, e.g. hutches, couches, etc...

Doesn't it go back to it's charging station when it needs charged by itself and would you recommend turning it on when you go to bed so it can work throughout the night?
