I was a little toddler in the late 1980s but I remember visiting my teen cousins’ house in 1990 and their room looked exactly like this. The lamps, the furniture and the posters, the light up vanity, all of it!

I've been obsessed with the 80s for over a year now, it may be a permanent phase, idk. Anyways, I subscribed :)

A lot of girls in the 80s had 4 poster beds with canopies, and they looked a lot like the main character's bedroom at the beginning of the movie Adventures in Babysitting. I didn't, but several of my friends did. Duran Duran was super popular. I had one friend who bought lots of Duran Duran stuff from Japan somehow and her whole entire room was a shrine to Duran Duran, including a bunch of concert t shirts she had draped over the edges of the canopy above her bed. The 80s had lots of bright neon colors in fashion but most homes were decorated in dusty rose or powder blue. Your floral pastel bed linens are on point. The character homes in Murder She Wrote and Scarecrow and Mrs. King were what a middle class home looked like. And all the brass and glass accents in the interiors on the tv series The Americans were popular everywhere. Atari was hugely popular when it came out. I could play Space Invaders for hours. We played a lot of D&D. I don't remember Heartthrob. Mystery Date was more well known I think. I'm impressed you have a vcr player!

I'm working on making my room more 80s/90s inspired. I have this great old wooden bed that I just got along with a quilt my grandma made in the 90s (it's pink and blue, it's very pretty). Then I have various Lisa Frank things and some collectible teacups my mom had in the 80s. I'm working on buying more posters, however, I'm a child without a lot of money and posters add up.

I've been on a real 80s kick lately. And early 90s. I been watching the 80s metal heads home videos to those girls in Walmart in the early 90s. I was born in late 93 and only remember the tail end of the 90s. But I still feel a lot of nostalgia for it as well as 80s. This was such an awesome video !!!

I was born in 1972 and just want to say you and your room are adorable. Brings back a lot of memories. Good job on your hair too ❤. I was a rocker chick in my teen years with big blonde hair and posters of Bon Jovi, Poison, and Motley Crue all over my room. I miss those days. I have a few trinkets from back then and some ticket stubs. You should try to find the clear phone with the colored inside parts. That was a staple. When you get the closet cleaned out (it’s been 2 years so maybe you’ve already done this 😂) you should do a wardrobe tour video. I’m subbing!

Wow, a fantastic replica of an dream 80s room! You actually killed it. The same vibe and furniture and placements, everything! Most people sort of go for the “obvious” and not full on out or they fail to pay attention to the little things that make the whole difference, but you payed attention to tiny details and went all out! Phenomenal 💕 I do want to decorate my room in a similar fashion!

One of my favorite albums of all time is hung up right there on your wall @7:00. SOS Band’s Sands Of Time. Such a great collection of 80s classics. I have it on cassette and vinyl! Love your room. I was born in 1989 so my childhood memories are from the mid 90s to early 2000’s which was still an awesome time! I’m creating my 90s room and have a few things like old wooden side tables & tv stands, a Super Nintendo, a mini tv/vcr combo and a foe wood grain vhs tape case. Next is a landline phone and a few other late 80s - early 1990s things.

I want an 80s room. Every time I get stressed I reminisce about the 80s and want to go back. I remember those vanity mirrors. Everyone’s mom had one in the 80s. I love your 80s hair and clothes too. The Espirit bag is pronounced ess-SPREE at least that’s how I always heard it pronounced. And I remember playing that heartthrob game at sleepovers. Other games a lot of us girls had were girl talk and mall madness.

Impressive! Having lived through the 80s I can say you’ve done a great job capturing the essence of the time. It’s the little things like the hairspray and the alarm clock (I had that exact one, forgot all about it until I saw yours). Hats off to you for doing the disposable camera thing. Each one of those photos are very authentic looking. With your amazing personal style and the way you frame each photo, it really sells it as vintage even if it’s modern. Great job!
