Thank you so much. I spend a lot of time here because I’m front the country and it’s quiet here. You’ve done such a wonderful job with the drone. I have no idea about the hour glass with wings being for small children. Thanks for educating me. I always pay attention to the symbols. Lots of masons and important people buried in there. My dad actually told me that the ones that have the headstone at the wrong opposite end to the others were often suicides. Not sure if that’s true. I was surprised to find that the serpentine canal goes from the lidcome tafe side all the way down past the elephant house. That things is huge, deep and winding. Thank you for explaining about the stones in the Jewish part. Whenever I walk past there it puzzled me.

Lawrence - KZread recommended your 'Abandoned Railway Infrastructure' video to me. I watched and enjoyed it, so I thought I would have a look at what else you had done. This tour of Rookwood is excellent and I would like to congratulate you on it. It is interesting, engaging and - above all - informative. The photography is similarly outstanding - particularly the images of the two statues against the threatening clouds, and the drone footage of the babies cemetery where the outlines of the graves can be plainly seen. As an aside, the small railway town just to the west of the necropolis was originally called Haslam's Creek, but when the cemetery was established, it too came to be known as Rookwood. After some time, the residents decided that they didn't like this, and a proposal went to the town council to change its name. The popular choice was Lidcombe, a combination of the surnames of Aldermen LIDbury and LarCOMBE. The Larcombe name is still associated with Lidcombe and Rookwood to this day via Larcombe Memorials Pty Ltd, monumental masons, at 2 Railway St. I hate to do this, but there is a small issue at around 25:38. You link a rabbi, a menorah . . . and the Quran/Koran. I think you might have mixed up the Middle Eastern Holy Books. Still, it's an excellent piece of work, and I look forward to seeing more in the future.

Thank you so much for your appreciated comments. I am glad you enjoyed my documentary. I worked in Rookwood for ten years supervising in conservation of remaining remnant Cumberland woodlands and other vegetation community. I consider myself as a dedicated amateur photographer.

I admire Rookwood too and did some filming there which starts at 12.35mins into a short film { kzread.info/dash/bejne/jIKGptadj9S-gMY.html called "Driftwood" and the 'wood' comes from there) that you may like. It is a great place to observe and film.
