    You should put a note down about multiple circuits through a back box (lighting fed through sockets) I got flagged up cause I installed a 20amp switch module and a fused module for underfloor heating on a lighting grid plate just look better than a separate fused spur, fan isolator and a light switch and was told it needs noting down on the circuit so that anyone working on it knows there’s multiple circuits.

  • @Cablesmith

    @Cablesmith

    2 жыл бұрын

    Your very right, I normally would note that especially on grid switches ect with multiple circuits. here tho I didn’t feel it necessary as it was pretty obvious what was going through the conduit. Would have just been a box ticking exercise more than anything. Thanks for watching too mate 👌🏼👏🏼

    @@Cablesmith- I agree with you completely, it’s just something I wasn’t aware of at all and everytime I see it now I feel I should mention it incase anyone else was in the same position I was in. I now print a label flag off and put it around the line/live of the different circuit in the box plus a little label sticker printed off and stuck above the cable entry of the backbox where it comes in just incase the cable flag gets removed or falls off. Wasn’t at all digging, I just find out these regs that I never had a clue about and feel theres probably hundreds of others who had no idea too so I’d rather mention things for others to pick up rather than get caught out on if that makes sense? After all we’re all here to learn something, and better ourselves!💪🏽 Keep up the top work though champ, been subbed since your first video was recommended months ago and loving your growth!

    If it was done on your annual inspection, you will find when someone like the NIC can't find anything wrong, they will focus on trivial things, they specialise at that. Let's face it, in that situation any electrician would clock that, probably before they took the thing off the wall, and seeing the set up they would be thinking there's probably 2 supplies in there, if someone doesn't know what they are doing, they shouldn't be messing about in there.

    see in the states we would have used emt instead of all that plastic and used off set bends to the boxes so tubing would have been flat to the surface very difficult to to use as a hanger rod. (side note i do not use emt that much im a residential spark not commercial) how ever your underground armored cable is so superior to anything we would use in the states

  • @Cablesmith

    @Cablesmith

    Yea we use steel conduit a lot commercial and industrial. Not very much at all domestic tho. Our saddles space the conduits off the wall the same distance as the holes in the back boxes so it wouldn’t work like that for us. But it would be a nice touch 👌🏼 Thanks for watching mate !

    Nice neat job lads, the only thing I would of done differently was drop the 20mm tube a bit lower then rather than running the lighting circuit through the sockets I would of used t-boxes and mounted the socket above but each to their own. The fusebox branded board looks the same as the now discontinued mk sentry range of boards. Probably made in the same factory in China.

  • @NoDissasemble
    @NoDissasemble2 жыл бұрын

    Neat job. Insight on the garage from experience. The concrete prefabs have a wood rail that runs around the top of the panels and the roof brackets will fix to the batten and the panel. The panels that don't have a roof bracket will usually have fixing holes in at least the top two corners if not all four, blanked with a wood peg. Common methods I see for fixing plywood or OSB sheets without drilling the panels the are to use these holes with coach bolts through from outside, or to fix battens to the floor and the top rail. Many garage companies consider drilling to void the guarantee.
