This process is screaming for partial to full automation! Imagine the amount of "non recyclable" plastic we could keep out of the water and landfills with several automated facilities around the globe. Paying children for plastics they pick up off the streets and from local rivers and beaches in developing economies would be an added benefit.

That is quite possible. You just have to pay for it. An automatic line will cost around 150000 euros. We have it on an idea and on a piece of paper.

What a great idea to have, I see past all the limitations and comments. Automation, and in bulk press production will increase your profit margins. Many other uses come to mind. What is the fire rating, with sand in the tiles? Does the roof tiles get hot to touch or walk on? Perhaps this can be used for decking boards? Hope you reply back 😃

I really like the idea. But will that be economic with a production capacity of 60 pc per hour? Even is the plastic is for free the electricity costs money and the wages. Any calclulations available? How does it compete with concrete tiles in production capacity and price?

apparently from what I have learned watching some of these videos is as long as just melt the plastic and don't actually burn it you don't get fumes. I would be interested to know if that is true or not

Yes and no In order to recycle plastics they need to be separated by type and color and there are hundreds of types out there. So easier said than done :) Unrecyclable composites, dirty plastics, etc. can be converted back to oil using pyrolysis or burned in an incinerator to recover energy-reducing volume by 90%.

It doesn't seem fast enough to produce any real numbers. It would take a whole year just to do one house roof.

I've come across similar plastic roof tiles at www.roofingmegastore.co.uk/roofing-brands/pitched-roofing/tapco.html , which are also crafted from recycled plastic. However, these are the only plastic roof tiles I've come across that provide a similar finish to concrete roof tiles. Thanks you and I will be in touch . . .

We are the producer of this machines. The installation costs 78000 euro with the moulds. We can make the moulds with a drawing or muster in Your standart/the standart is different in the countries/. Time to work-3 months.Installed power-20 kW The installation includes: 1.Specially extruder 2.Press machine 3.Calibrator cooler for the ready details The machine can make 60 pieces per hour. The making area is 20 m2 without warehouses. If You have any questions please send us.The produce time is two months . The line for the production of floor coverings and roof tiles is the same. Just change molds. There is also a difference in the plastic mixture because it can also be used petrified PET bottles. The installed power is 25 kilowatts, but the working consumption is about 10 kilowatts. The blending ratio is 30% plastic and 70% sand. Marble flour can also be used to better achieve the desired color. For paint, use is an oxide cement paint.. The cost does not include delivery costs. You will get a detailed video on launching and operating the machines. You need to specify what details you want to make. Our plant uses waste plastic as a raw material, which cannot be used for separation and recycled as a secondary raw material. For example, plastic bags, car plastics, packaging and much more. Plastic waste is crushed with a grinder or agglomerator of fine particles about 4-5 mm. They are then mixed with dry sand in a percentage of 50/50 in weight units. 0.1% oxide paint is added. What plastic are you using? PP, LDPE, HDPE, PET, PLA, PHA are pretty safe. Last 3 are pretty pricey :) Another thing can be said about PVC, PS, HIPS, and plastic with FR :)@@kotarakafeliks
