    Hi Ashley. Another great video. I wondered how did you manage the waste water and slurry coming off the roof. It seemed that you had quite a lot to deal with. Also, I was wondering how you would survey a roof before cleaning, as the water could find loose tiles, and water finding its way into the loft space. It looks like an excellent way to clean the roofs though. Cheers

    @@aemackintosh I am curious to read your response to the second part of the question as I have been asked to quote for the cleaning of a moss-laden bungalow roof that has >1cm gaps between the tiles. Having not ventured into roof cleaning, yet, I do not want to get my first job wrong and ruin my reputation. As an aside and rough guide, how do you charge (per m2 or per hour) and what do you charge. I am based in Cornwall, not sure that makes as as we have a broad mix of low wage earners and the idle rich down here.

    Hi Ashley, thanks for putting this video together - I love this setup you have made. When you run the surface cleaner across roof tiles which have a very high ridge, have you encountered any problems (such as the spinning bar clipping the ridge of a tile)? If so do you have any suggestions for how this could be avoided (such as installing longer bristles to increase the distance between the surface cleaner and the tiles)? Thanks

  • @aemackintosh

    @aemackintosh

    2 жыл бұрын

    Obviously just be careful on the lip of the tile as you come down from one row to the next. I wouldn’t replace the bristles round the edge with longer ones because you need the jets close to the surface so they are effective in the low dips of the tile.👍🏼

    @@colonynaut1627 your pressure washer goes to a foot switch then out of there with a hose through your pole.It just means you can use your pole for pressure washing and waterfed pole window cleaning. If you mount a trigger on the pole you can only really do pressure washing with it.The foot switches aren't cheap though look at q washers on KZread Damien has videos on the subject and can supply everything you need also AC pressure washers do kits dependent on the length of your pole. But as Ashley said you would need a really good hi-mod pole though like ova8 or supermax 3k

    The obvious answer is a flat surface cleaner will be less and less effective on the increasing profile of a tile

  • @aemackintosh

    Yes, it’s maybe slightly less effective on curved tiles, and you have to be a bit careful not to catch the jets on the edges of those types of tile. I think you couldn’t use this method for every type of tile if some are too delicate.😃👍🏼

  • @aemackintosh

    Yes, exactly. Pressure washing power is actually measured by a combination of psi and litres per minute of water used. But there is a balance of the amount of force needed to clean the surface. I think you get a feel for it and it can vary from job to job depending on the type of tile and how dirty it is.👍🏼
