When people ask "Who's your favourite guitar player" , it's unequivocal response: "Ronnie Earl". I'm usually met with a blank face. Ronnie has been an inspiration since those early Blacktop CDs --mid 80's . To see this phenomenal. His ideas are free-flowing and inventive. He always plays from the heart and with great technique. A rare combination. Just brilliant.

Ronnie is the cure for anybody who ever found cause to call Blues boring, repetitious, whatever. He's incorporated a sky-full of sophisticated jazzy licks and stuff that's totally abstract and original, but it never fails to slide in seamlessly and stay all the way "Downtown." How did this guy not get his name shouted from the rooftops for the last 30-40 years? I'm usually not big on comparisons or rating, but this guy's probably forgotten more than some famous Blues "masters." Go, Ronnie, GO!
