Lee Mack is a very rare breed of comedian, in that he doesn't need a script to be funny. His off the cuffs quips, as you heard in this interview and many more times on WILTY, are proof that you've either got a witty fast thinking brain or you haven't. He has without a shadow of a doubt.

It's also clear why he's a script writer, not just a performer. He can do both quips and structure, a rare appreciation of comedy.

The Sketch Show was brilliant. Jim, Lee, Ronni, Karen and Tim had such good chemistry. Some of the best sketches were with Lee and Ronni. The jockey interview and the sign language ones are memorable

my 2 favourite british comedians from the common era - possibly ever - loved their work together in Sketch Show, Ronnie's Big Impressions with Alistair M and Lee's quick wit in WILTY ... larfeed my head off at this!!! and this is from 2010!!!! wow!!!

I used to watch Jazz in The Bun shop circa 1979. Too early for such gong nights, unfortunately.

There was a guy in Australia who did a comedy routine on a TV talent and won , but he had just copied Lee's act and passed it off as his own ,blatant plagiarism, when this came to light he went on tv crying and apologised , wish Ronni had asked Lee about it. Well worth a look to see the joke stealer cower and cringe.

Never found Lee Mack funny in fact like Eddie Izzard and particularly Bob Mortimer he's super unfunny. I know humour is subjective but no, just no, not for me.

Comedy is subjective. As is politics, art, music.......just about everything. What I have noticed in a long life is my tastes have changed. Back in the day, I hated Allo Allo and Last of the summer wine. That has changed. What I love now is spontaneous comedy, the quick ,clever wit and in that Lee Mack is without parallel.
