Judo helped me so much from when i was a little kid until this day. When i was a little kid i used to fall a lot because i was doing stupid things constantly and because you learned how to break your fall in Judo i never got hurt. These simple techniques can be life savers. Learning how to roll and how to use your arms is very important as well. The brakes on my bike were made to tight without me knowing so at a higher speed i hit the brakes and my front wheel locked instantly, i flew over my steering wheel and out of instinct i landed and rolled and stood up as if nothing happened. Little techniques can be amazing to know in real life, not just for self defense when your fighting someone.

It's awesome that Steve-O got to learn those falls from you. You make those falls look so easy. I might practice those drills despite how easy it is for our human bodies to get injured. I love martial arts and am usually self taught at it even though am not good at fighting.

She seems like a good teacher. Falling techniques are so important. I broke my collarbone during one judo practice. I had learnt how to fall but that guy threw me so fast and forcefully to the ground that I just could not break the fall. No judo for me anymore. It takes like 6 months for that collarbone to heal properly and even after 2 years my shoulder feels uncomfortable sometimes.

I totally agree, falling technique is important, but sometimes, specially in modern competitive judo, it is not enough to be safe. Ii's about 8 years that i'm troubling with a muscle contracture to my traps due to a received sukashi on an uchi mata attempt, fortunately I had just muscle problem, but it could have been very worse...
