The current American judo champ took the gold in London. I guess some of the steam has been taken out of Ronda's bronze 4 yrs ago. However, the "Arm Collector" (or Armbar Assassin) has made her own in WMMA and is sure to not care one single bit about not competing in the London Olympics and trying for the gold. She loves what she's doing and where she is at in her career so young

It just occurred to me. Guys that troll and don't find Rhonda ABSOLUTELY STUNNING have ,truthfully, probably already either had their heart broken or are in love with a completely different type of chick, because whoever it was you are infatuated with last is your perfect type. I know this because I've been in love a million times, and my ex babygirl looks and acts and talks just like Ronda. And fuck that Ronda is a Julia Stiles type. Julia Stiles is a Ronda Rousey type.

Well if you are good looking you get endorsements. Its a gamble like anything else you choose to go after in life. Maybe thats what they should teach people before they go after metals.Besides most people that have that goal in mind generally have excellent motivation to become about anything they want.

I know it isn't a gold medal, but if you really don't care about it, it is still worth quite abit of money if you are allowed to sell it. Sign it with a picture, and it would be worth a lot more. I'm sure she isn't hurting for money though.

You know I believe what she is saying is really true. The US isn't federally funded like most countries. The US Olympic committee needs contributions from business and from its citizens. I wouldn't be surprise if there's a clause with the US Olympic committee that the athlete or the family of the athlete has to cover half the costs. And while winning a gold medal the athlete is actually getting a silver medal with 6oz of gold plated over it. If you put a price tag on the medals I can see why she didn't really care cause a bronze medal is whatever the street price of copper since the bronze medal is just made up of copper and tin. It's only worth roughly four bucks on a good day. The only athletes that make money are the ones that bring home the most gold and it even helps more if the sport is a very popular one that the athlete can make money through commercials and endorsements. I'm sure Ronda Rousey got some endorsement deals but she won't have gotten the money like a Brodie or a Phelps. And I wouldn't even be surprised to Suzey Chaffee (aka Suzey Chapstick) was supposed to take home gold but didn't meddle and I bet she got more endorsement money when she came home from the Olympics than Ronda because of the sport she's in. Hell! We show more respect to a drug pusher, serial rapist, or a child porn/rapist. And to the ones that should be respected like veterans, Olympic athletes, and teachers.

Her mom is probably A little jealous inside because her mom is a judo master n never got any kind of attention for it. Ronda won a bronze in da olimpics and hit super stardom in mma and hit mainstream and is now a household name. I think its different for women ,especially competitive women who kick ass for a living. Not like a proud father. I don't think the cats pissed on her metals. I think her mom was tired of looking at the success she could of had if she didn't become a mother with obligations. "There can only be one alpha bitch in this house"

do you even what you talking about, her mother has a PhD, a damn PhD and she's her mother. she could never be jealous of her. moreover Ronda is an outstanding athlete but she could never fill her mom's shoes. her mother is a great mother and Ronda has said many times that her every accomplishment is because of her mother. better know your shit when you judge anyone.

I know my shit, Her mom is a judo master and just because she said that about her mom doesn't mean her mom is or isn't jealous and I said probably. I ain't judging. I'm just going on what I heard from Gene Labelle when I trained with him in 2013. Of course her mom loves her and supports her but there's always that wonder of ,How would i do if there was this much exposure for fighters back then. The only one judging is you judging me Mr. Thanksforthehead

  • @Apropoetic

She didn't sound stupid at all. Just because one person's situation is worse doesn't mean the other person's situation isn't bad too. People in Africa could say your friend has no right to complain, their country murdered their family and amputated their limbs. She is right to complain. I'm not trying to be a jerk, and I'm sorry that happened to your friend, but there are always people in worse situations out there and your friend, as well as others, have the right to complain.

Looking good? Nope. Phil Mickelson, $30M/y Endorsements come because you provide positionning value for a company who invests big in marketing. Rich sports (Golf, etc.) help market luxury products like expensive watches. Sports tied to mass consumption products sell tons of shoes and sports wear. If your sport doesn't sell, your medal isn't getting you anything in terms of endorsements, as Ronda found out.

Dear Rhonda you don't get the same glorification for being a Olympian by today's people. Like you would expect if you were victorious in the ancient Olympics. the spiritual kickback. For any Olympian. Is better than not being one. The physical freedom you expressed in competition and as a professional fighter. Will forever be worth more than its weight in gold. Just as long as you stay all natural and promote the healthiest most natural clothing and beauty feminine type of products. Take care. You got my email if you ever want to have a heart-to-heart with someone who can relate to everything you have been through. Sleigh ride, suicide, Olympics, competition, training hard, glamour shots, having to grow up fast. Not being appreciated.
