Potable water is just another name for drinking water. Clean water to drink is harder to maintain than you think in a municipal water system.. This film allows the public a very rare look inside municipal water tanks and towers. A water tank is the last stop drinking water makes before it is served at your tap. Since 1997 our company has been inspecting and cleaning potable water tanks and towers. We use underwater cameras to do most of the inspections so there is no disruption in water service. If the tank needs to be cleaned we go back with a potable water dive crew to remove loose sediment in the bottom of the tank that can be a habitat for bacteria, protozoa, and even viruses.
