This is the final episode of the entire series. By showing how much Ron has matured and changed as a human being rather than absurd happy endings, it makes us realize that he is a human with emotions like us in a flat character that only gives us laughter, and announces that Ron and Leslie's new beginning is the end of the drama.

I think it's more he drops the facade around Leslie. Outside of Diane, she's probably the one person he act like himself and be more open. She's the only amongst their friend group he can be his realist in. A lot of other people have said they love that they care about each other without it being romantic or inappropriate and I agree.

Honestly I don’t know why didn’t the show end here. This was the perfect scene where all of our friends meet, worked, laughed, cried, fell in love; well Andy and April and Ben and Leslie, and where they solved problems they encountered. To see Ron and Leslie bring back the old place to its original way was for me the proper finale of the series especially when all, except Craig, came back to the same place

Yep it would have been a good ending. S7 was a lot of crap towards end were they felt the need to butcher their characters and make them like fairy tale heroes. Everyone was just suuupersuccesful it killed a lot of the charme.. But thats the exact problem tv shows often develop towards the end. Writers loose creativity and connection to the characters and compensate with bombast.

@@roberthuntington5421 i mean yes but… i would say that the whole “plot” of season 7 was, especially the early episodes, that feud between Ron and Leslie and in a way every season had a plot point like season 1 was about kickstarting the movement to fill the pit, season 2 was about starting building the park, then season 3 was about getting Leslie elected councilwomen, season 4 was about moving the mechanics of local government to fulfill Leslie’s dream of building the park, season 5 was now about defending Leslie’s post as councilwomen, and season 6 was about Leslie coming to terms as her career as deputy director of the parks department and essentially doing everything was ending as during her absence all of our characters had grown from doing nothing to actually doing something and there was be room for Leslie there and that’s why she moved from local to the federal government and now season 7 was perfectly to follow this plot point of the feud between Ron and Leslie that was great as the two ideologies of government, between rons libertarianism and Leslie’s federal government went to head and then we see what actually drove them apart to then happily reunite on the same place where it all began. I do agree that the finale was good but this wouldn’t hurt the show at all

I mean it seems a pretty realistic concept and I could buy it with such a busy life, but to me it’s the fact she forgot IMMEDIATELY. Not even five seconds had gone by and she was agreeing to fly out for something else at the same time as their meeting. Ron was still standing RIGHT THERE. Leslie may have been busy and a steamroller, but she was a good friend. There’s no way she forgot that easily. It would have been far more acceptable that she completely remembered, couldn’t make it back in time, but then decided to let it go deciding that Ron wouldn’t possibly have cared that much

Frankly their personalities wouldn't allow for it. Their love for each other doesn't down play or put tension on their relationships or do anything I'd consider inappropriate. Leslie is just a caring person who'd do anything for the people in her life and Ron gravitated toward that and knew she was someone important.
