✨ Romwe Fairy Grunge Honest Review & Try on Haul 🦋 Trying it so you don't have to!!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I ordered bunch of stuff from the new Romwe fairycore collection to show you if its worth it or not. Should you save your money and buy a couple of quality pieces from a small biz or be patient enough to thrift some stuff? Spoiler alert: yes. I did however keep a few things.
For reference I’m a US small, 4 or 6 depending on the brand. 34C, 27.5” waist and 38” hip got a medium in most items.
Below I am linking a few of my FAVORITE cottagecore/royalcore/fairycore stores!!

Fast fashion is only really “fast” or disposable if you just throw it away after one season. If it’s a good piece and you no longer need it or it no longer fits (which happens to every BODY) you can donate it. Sometimes a piece just fails for some reason and that’s just that.

So true! Shopping intentionally and consciously is always best regardless of where. I have so many pieces from fast fashion brands that I’ve had for years & still wear and take care of to help them last 😊

@@DressMeUpScotty Right, I buy from Shein but I don't treat my clothes like fast fashion, I buy pieces I like and take care of them. I'm formerly homeless and during that time, I had all my clothes stolen on 3 occasions. Being able to now dress how I want to and feel good about myself is a big thing for mental health/self esteem, to be able to represent myself how I feel I am. I'm also tall and a very hourglass shaped size 16 so it's not always easy to find things that fit well even when they have plus size sections in a store, eg bootleg pants being high waters (NO lol), things being too "revealing" in certain areas, things being too loose around the crotch/waist so that they fit my thighs/butt. I also find a lot of skirts too LONG on shein in the plus section even though I'm tall and have long legs, or they kind of stick out at the back when they're meant to be fitted. Argh it's a whole saga lol.

@@pumpkinpepsi I 100% agree. The idea of “you can’t wear an outfit more then once” online is what I think has made fast fashion much more prevalent today. I have had the same black shorts from shein for 3 years and they are still going

Romwe's aesthetic deserves its flowers. They really stand out among Shein's other clothing photos because they go all the way with the background and design. Even making the models look like fairies? I have to stan the impeccable vibes

Thank you for speaking up about how difficult it is to buy ethical clothing when you just don't have the access to. I feel awful that I cannot buy only ethically based clothing but, I understand that I need to do what is best for myself. I thrift mostly, but essentials such as under garments I don't feel comfortable thrifting. Thank you for your video and understanding.

Yeah I find those types of accessories are a good value. I always lose them so it’s better to not spend too much haha. Also before I buy accessories off Amazon I always check Shein/Romwe because sometimes they’re sourced from the same manufacture but Amazon charges like 3x more (convenience charge I suppose, you get it quicker).

I’m from Italy and we don’t have thrift stores. The few there are have very expensive. In my city there is one and a shirt I bought there costed 86€. So for me SHEIN is really helpful even because I’m still growing and a lot of clothes I have don’t fit me after a couple years.

As a mid- to plussize girl, I like shein because it's size inclusive. Most of the brands and stores out there aren't, which is a huge bummer. Same with thrifting, I love thrift shopping and second hand shopping, but I rarely find good stuff :(

Same here! like I enjoy Depop and stuff, but a lot of sellers who sell y2k and fairycore items are really exclusive. And if they do have bigger sizes, they overcharge by a lot. There are a few rare gems, though.

omfg you are so gorgeous!!! And I love how you stated stuff about fast fashion, I only shop there 1-2-3 times a year and I'm not too accessible to thrifting and other shops since one, they're expensive (80 DOLLARS FOR A SHIRT???), And two, I'm not always able to go out. My family is not amazing financially wise (we have clothes, food, and a roof over our heads) and I'm so grateful to be gifted with that stuff. However, we can't always afford shopping from more expensive shops, so I escort myself to romwe/Shein. No I do not support fast fashion but I just don't have money.

This is SO valid!! ❤️ Accessibility is sometimes lost in the conversation & the argument of sustainability vs fast fashion can become really classist really quick! The villain in the story is the greedy corps polluting & exploiting, not those who shop lower cost items out of necessity. And you’re so right, not everyone has access to thrift stores & online secondhand platforms can be so pricey!! Altho second hand sellers are trying to survive as well. It’s like… we are all trying to survive this crazy world we live in which is why I try really hard not to judge anyone. 🥺

I am not growing anymore and there are “fast fashion” clothing items that I bought like 3 years ago that I still use. I am always trying to take good care of my clothes, especially if I love them. If I don’t like something anymore or have grown out of it, I bring them to thrift stores or to something we call “leger des Heils” in the Netherlands, basically donating clothes for people who need them.

I love when influencers be like 'Don't buy from sites like Shien and Romwe where you can find a top for £5, go to these other super fancy stores where you have to pay £80 for a top'. I feel like clothes nowadays are either cheap but bad for the environment or really expensive which only rich and middle-class people can afford. And thrifting and finding items that you like and fit you is not as easy as people make it to be.

I grew up with rarely buying my own clothes or having them bought for me, it's always hand me downs from relatives especially from abroad so they're usually soooo sustainable and lasted me years. When I started finding my own style and aesthetic, I started thrifting, it's so much fun and better than buying something new (money issues mostly) then just started sewing/ up cycling my old ones and just today I thrifted this really cute sun and moon mini skirt and was soooo in-love, but it arrived and I can't even explain the disappointment when I saw the material that was used. It was literally like the shower curtain material and behold, it was a Romwe skirt. I hated that the seller didn't explicitly say that it was from a brand like that, I get fast fashion, I've had some items from such companies before that I still use but damn this one I can't

If some random internet strangers passionately dislike something I do like, I couldn’t possibly care less. Dressing the way i have for the past 25 years, has taught me this lesson. These new alt kids have completely lost the entire idea of the culture. The gate keeping, judgmental BS towards others…stuff like buying whatever clothes we want..has completely ruined the social bonus of alt culture.

“Curated influencer” as if I just popped out of a lab grown by a corporation, instead of a normal person who consistently recorded themself on their camcorder, edited with their shitty laptop and posted every week for 2 years making $400 a month (adsense makes you nothing) from all the work. Sure. And yeah, Romwe is a crap company. I never denied it. I point out how bad of quality of clothes are which is the point of the “I did this so you don’t have to”‘style of video. I put myself further into debt for this video even tho I had $27 in my account but go off as if I’m a huge rich influencer in Beverly Hills. And yeah I did address the fact that people are poor and buy clothes from these sites out of desperation to stay with the trends because of social pressure and we shouldn’t shame them for it. Guess what? Poor people exist. It’s classist to shame people for falling into capitalist traps. It’s the companies we need to hold accountable. Not the customers. I wanted to show people that it’s not worth it. But I bet you saw Romwe in the title and thumbnail and jumped into your keyboard like a piranha.
