i remember watching this in 9th grade english and i really didn’t think much of it other than the fact young leo was attractive but then i watched it again in 10th grade and completely fell in love with the movie and all of its glory and meaning and now i’m in 11th grade and it’s my favorite movie and i also understand what shakespeare was trying to say i love the way baz reinvented it in a different way

She’s so delightful!

Leo is absolutely brilliant 😩

It’s so funny how you change so much every few years. When we did this at school I couldn’t understand a word. Fast forward 15 years and I now love Romeo and Juliet.

OMG,23 years of the most awesome film that i ever saw in my life! I love everything about this film,the story,the actors,the director,Baz make a wonderful job,Leo and Claire are the best couple that Hollywood ever had (my opinion ok!) And i don't care if the Kleos hate this film and that couple,I LOVE THEM,and i think that i'm not the only one! thank you baz Luhrmann for this movie!♥

It’s the same as every other Shakespeare since the 1500’s. Word for word. They just modernized it and completely changed the setting. If you watch it with subtitles you’ll understand it way way more. To be fair I have read and watched several Romeo and Juliet‘s from Shakespeare and I still don’t know half what the hell they’re saying.
