They are not phone devs the make the Linux version of the total war games and other games and rome remastered is good you don't need the 30gb 4k graphics

I'll admit, I don't know a ton about game space and everything, but even with a remaster, a game released in 2004 should not be the biggest thing on my computer, right? Like...that just seems insane to me.

The Latin word is “spaghetti code”

The heaviest assets in most games are textures, I imagine the devs just changed every single original texture for a 4K version in order to make the game look better and therefore heavier. Stuff like AI and gameplay code uses very little space.

@@incognito-px3dz devs are rarely lazy, they are just given limited budget and scope to do things. CA execs probably told them to just change whatever they could instead of rebuilding the game from scratch.

@@incognito-px3dz As much as I would like to say yes, I also have seen legacy projects like these. And the cost/benefit of going back and seeing how everything works is insane so you end up doing a patch work and hope for the best. That doesn't excuse it, though. If you are not willing to back and fix this s...t then why sell it?

Rumour has it that the AI are still trying to get through the open gate. The defenders have simply gone home knowing no attack is imminent.

Meanwhile, I’ve been uninstalling games and manually cleaning up save files to make room for all 120 gb of TWW3.

Ahh yes, the flawless skill and high iq of modern devs and programmers, creating optimized masterpieces even to this day, and to think that merely 20 years ago inferiour stone age gamer devs made bloated pieces of programs that could hardly run on the small cartridges and technology available back then. I am so glad that these new generation of fresh and skilled young blood make such great works, especially when they get the hands on things we love and care about, not a better time to be alive. I want off this ride of bloated and unoptimized messes and "remake remaster" trend.

the only modern today game i can think of that isnt bloated is Valheim. It has so much stuff in it but is only 4-5 gb iirc. More games should be like that

I paid half price and still feel cheated

I remember trying to play the remaster a few months back and for some reason (probably the update) made the game unplayable, mouse clicks wouldn't register no matter how much I fiddled with configurations, repaired or reinstalled the game, then I gave up and went back to WH2.

So far I'm happy with this year regarding Pilps content. True to Caesar!

Just don't get the enhanced graphics pack, it still looks really good on regular ultra graphics. For me it's taking 42GB, yes that's more than the original of course, but it's reasonable.

Who need remastered when the mod done a better job anyway.

I mean, yeah, isn't the whole point that it's the same dated, buggy game but with new textures slapped on?

Despite its problems I still love the Rome Total War Remaster, flaws and all Now we just need Medieval Remastered or 3 and life is complete
