Romans 8:1-27 - Skip Heitzig

With a tone of desperation and defeat, Romans 7 painted a dark picture of humanity. But Romans 8 begins with a declaration for believers of no condemnation before God and ends with the beautiful reminder that we have no separation from God. In this message, Skip Heitzig shares what a new life in Christ means for you, including how the Holy Spirit transforms and works in your heart and mind.
This teaching is from the series 45 Romans - 2021 with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Church.

    Pastor Heitzig, I hope you realise that there are many of us - I am in the UK - who are not able to meet in church, and the ones who do meet here are mostly apostate - and to get real teaching is so edifying at a difficult time like this. Please be aware that these teachings are so necessary and they help enormously. I feel like an alien in a cruel world. Everybody is scuttling round like terrified rabbits with masks on and if you dare to get anywhere near - heaven help you. The only one who is getting me through this awful time is Jesus - one day at a time. Nobody can ever take Him away, even though they can take our freedoms, and they cannot take away our peace. He is awesome.

    I too agree. I'm in Australia and although all churches are open, we're finding it hard to find any that preach the Word. Mostly all motivational messages with little to no scripture. I watch so many Calvary chapel videos by different Calvary chapel pastors. Very grateful to have these teachings online.

    Romans 8:38-39 -This is why “they” are so opposed to us even being interested in Jesus. They don’t just want our obedience. They want our minds because there is an all-important battle for our soul.

    God's ladies who have kept meeting in my home still hug. We do not wear masks nor socially distance. God's presence is so sweet for the 4 or 5 hours we are together soaking in His Word. We live in Central Victoria, Australia. Romans is also one of my favourite chapters, esp v1 which alters our whole outlook.

    My husband and I, as well as many families in our church are dealing with covid through a conference we had at our church 2 weeks ago. Most had the vaccine... Is been really difficult but praise God we are on our way to complete healing, although not everyone. Please use wisdom and try to keep distance when you attend church we don't want the government to use it as an excuse to start closing churches... Also the word of God says to use wisdom and prudence not letting your guard down as the devil is seeking whom to devour, and thus virus pleases you in a dark place where you really have to fight to pray and read the word of God. Is really a demonic virus. May the Lord protect us all in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen. Blessings to you all.

    Great Sermon! 1865 two years after that emancipation proclamation 250,000 slaves in Texas were finally given right to exercise that Freedom. Man's proclamations are often weak and shallow, thank God for Jesus. His work on the cross was complete immediately we equally have access to salvation/ true Freedom in Jesus!

    Then explain verse 13. “If you walk according to the flesh, you will DIE.” Period. Paul was talking to believers.. he’s telling them if they walk in the flesh they will DIE. That sounds like a judgement to me. Are we to not take Paul at his word? Isn’t this supposed to be the word of God?

    So you are saying there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus but then we should ignore the rest of the sentence that tells us what being in Christ Jesus is because the scribes did not have Microsoft Word? I feel pretty confident that God can preserve his word

    To those who believe the scripture has been corrupted it can be twisted to say whatever they want it to say. I don’t think a scribe added anything and that claim that older manuscripts have been found need to take a deep dive and find both sides of that argument

    I disagree, the comma is intentional bcuz there are believers who still operate in the flesh and don’t repent

    Where does he get his reasoning for removing verses and their parts. But then stein it’s to be expected from the new age Catholic bibles.

  • @Nomad58
    @Nomad588 күн бұрын

    Cute how he rewrites Roman’s 1. The comma is there for a purpose. It clearly states why there is no condemnation. It’s about lifestyle. Those who choose to live a godly lifestyle as a follower of Christ will not be condemned because they are not living a sinful lifestyle. As an ear tickler he wants there to be no qualifier. So he can teach once saved always saved.

    I am sorry, But 2 Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. If the Bible needs to be corrected (or at least the KJV) then is it really God's word. The KJV lasted the longest our of all the English translations so that tells me that that is the one that God gave for English speaking people. God's inspiration should never have to be corrected

    Older Manuscripts as in the Roman Catholic duzi-reems or the wescott and hort false profits? To have margin and foot notes is to confuse the new believers. God is Not the author of Confusion. There was nothing wrong with the received text. Those lusting for ungodly gain ruined it with "modern versions" or actually Imitations.
