John Berry of course merchandise has been the good they're pushing into the top and they constantly have his merchandise for sale just like Cena. and at Live Events he still get to boot as well at least the ones I've been to he would be a really cool bad a guy I have no idea why they insist on him being this goody-two-shoes

Sums it up. He's come strides since the Shield broke up. He's had lackluster matches (see Rusev feud), but he's been alright. His character is his crutch. It's holding him down from going up a level. Ditch the Shield armor, doing that alone would do wonders.

The problem is that WWE is pushing this guy so hard, they want to do the same thing they did with Cena and that's not working... He is a good worker, but he needs more work with the creatives to stand in the throne

Fans booed Reigns because they wanted Daniel Bryan to win the Royal Rumble in 2015. They haven't "forgiven" for that yet again, in 2014 when Batista won they were all over Reigns to win it. It really goes to show just how much the internet wrestling community has taken over the majority fanbase, instead of casual fans wanting something they want. They've spent more time reading the dirt sheets listening to guys like Dave Meltzer, Brian Alvarez, etc., and cite their unintelligible smarts from there on. It really proves that wrestling fans nowadays think they're better than the workers, which they're absolutely not, and thinking their voices dictate 100% of what goes into booking a feud, go-home spots and most importantly, THE PAYOFF of a great feud. I'm a worker and I can tell you right now their voices don't influence how the business works. Even though our performances tell our stories you have to take into the fact that , some guys and girls aren't cut to be the top and they're put into those spots BECAUSE THEY CAN DO IT.

I never said that and made sure to say it. Romans already planned to be the end result of the next Wrestlemania, We all know what's going to happen before it happens. I avoid the predictions but even then it's slipped through the cracks. I'm not saying it isn't a good idea neither, but in my perspective currently everything until mania has a major emphasis on being filler is really off-putting to the point i've only really been watching the youtube highlights of raw/sd. You are right though, Roman hasn't been in the main event recently, so I take that part back, it just feels like he has been especially after retiring taker.

a lot of folk moan about Jim Norton not being knowledgeable about wrestling but I'm glad he's there to stop them and ask questions to clear shit up for the listeners. I know it's a wrestling podcast but not everyone knows all the jargon and the names of moves. He's doing his job and making this easy to watch/listen to for everyone, not just the people who already know wrestling.

Nice guy. Terrible character.

To summarise the entire Roman Reigns story, he is a potentially great talent who is the victim of micro management of his booking and character. Case in point - beats Undertaker and gets more heat than anyone on the roster has, baby face or heel. How does WWE manage that? They use an angle with Strowman to take him off TV for weeks to let his heat fizzle, because they are still determined to make Roman the top baby face, even though the audience has rejected him as such.

Roman is a genuinely great guy

The more I watch Roman's interviews the more I say to myself, "If he used more of his real personality in his character, maybe he could make some headway in getting over." People complain he's booked too strong, man hasn't worn the title since before the brand split. He works just as hard, and just as much as the Indy darlings so why do you boo him for the stuff he has no control over?

God Jimmy sucks at interviewing. He's not cut out to be a host. He fits best in the background chiming in with the occasional gem. He just asks the most benign questions. Ugh.

Cmon guys give Jim Norton a break. If you're a regular listener of the podcast then you know that Jim Norton plays an important role. He represents the mainstream side of the interview. Since he's not an avid wrestling fan he asks the questions that a sports reporter in a mainstream network would ask, and most of the time his questions follow up interesting answers from the wrestlers. Good work Norton. Roberts.

I don't mind Jim Norton at all. Yes, he knows fuck all about wrestling, but he's still pretty good with interviews regardless.

Joe the person is a great guy. Roman Reigns the character gets placed in bad situations that doesn't help him. Like, winning a Royal Rumble when people wanted Daniel Bryan to or defeating Undertaker in the very last match at WrestleMania and Undertakers last match. If he was established as a heel that does what he is doing now, those booing him would be cheering him and loving everything that he does. He only "sucks" and "can't wrestle" now because his character isn't what people want it to be or because he isn't an indy darling that does fancy flips and kicks.

Roman Reigns is awesome, plays the strong, silent, powerhouse role and he plays it well. He's also one of the best sellers in the company ( both at selling moves AND merch ). So anyone capable of using logic is capable of appreciating him for what he brings to the table.
