@Versatile Wolf yeah. I stole it. Everyone steals comments. Nobody cares. And being triggered by someone because of the opinions they have about something shows that a lot of these wrestlers can’t take criticism. It doesn’t really matter if Taker was right or wrong, they need to at least listen to him, take it to heart, and determine whether or not he has a point and get better.

@Versatile Wolf of course a things change but that’s not really his main criticism. He thinks wrestlers nowadays aren’t tough and that they are only there to make money and look good without actually taking it seriously. I’m not really saying that he’s right or wrong, but that a lot of the wrestlers who are mad at him for speaking his mind are showing how soft they are, pretty much showing he has a point. And besides, there are multiple ways to bring back some essence of the AA era or RA era without doing stupid shit like chair shots to the head or swearing or objectifying women. But it doesn’t matter whether or not the fans believe he’s right or wrong, because that’s up for the wrestlers to decide, because his criticisms are towards them.

Here's the thing I do not get. Why are so many people upset by this? Wrestlers, Fans, etc... He wasn't trying to be a **** or anything. He meant it in a way like when parents say things like when I was your age or things were different then or back in my day. Like the rest of us, he heard those same things as he was moving forward in his days from the old timers. The biggest problem is social media gives everyone a platform and sadly too many people choose to cry on it or people make way too big of a deal out of things.

Taker have his full rights to have his own opinion and so Roman Reigns,but saying taker is a retired wrestler sounding like a gangsta is laughable. I agree with Taker. Him taking about wrestler carrying guns and knives in past doesn't mean he literally mean todays wrestler should do the same,but less clean cut. As taker says it doesn't matter how athletic you and how great moves if they don't have any purpose and a meaning .Just saying 🙂

I think Roman has a lot of meaning he gives his all to his sport n upholds the traditions of family n any time av heard Roman talk about older wrestlers Romans been appreciative of their talent and very respectful. I think he doing a great job and is a brilliant ambassador for his sport!

I don’t think Taker wasn’t referring to the current crop of Superstars. I think he was referring to the PG product as a whole. There was an edginess to the former product and storylines that isn’t there anymore

I like Roman, believe me, I like the dude from the days he was a member of The Shield to this current day Tribal Chief gimmick, but he cannot top Taker and Taker was 100% right. Roman ain't soft and there are few wrestlers who aren't, but most of them are soft. Taker proved his point.

End of days I'm pretty sure is the only finisher where it's actually finished almost every match it's been used in. Last I checked no one has kicked out of it.

Bullcrap. Goldberg is still main eventing shows. Roman reigns, fat owens and drew boringtyre will never main event when they reach 50. They dont have the star power and the badassness of past wrestlers. Look at brock he's in his 40s and still is the biggest star today. New gen wrestlers are not mainstream attraction.

The reason back then wasnt soft is chair shots were allowed to the dome it looked more realistic and less scripted . Finishers were a big deal I dont even know some people finishers on the current roster due to roll ups.Finishers arent protected . Every 1 is sensitive now .Blood was more often . Storylines made sense . The shows were hardcore .

Pretty obv current wrestlers wouldn’t know since they were wrestling in those early days. However someone like undertaker can relate he has been in all 3 version of it (attitude era, ruthless aggression era, and PG)

Back when Taker started there wasn't any plane rides big dog. I wasn't there but they all told crazy stories about how it was back then. They didn't make the kind of money they make now either. There's so many different ways to make money for these guys today so it's not a fair comparison. Today's guys could get rich on the side for just having a ton of followers on Instagram or some other social media site.

It’s interesting because in today’s day and age of constant exposure and social media, it’s tough to create these larger than life superstars given how much larger than life content we consume on a day to day basis.

Taker is right but he forgot about one important thing. Back in the day all wrestling shows worked under the story line that everything was real. Some wrestlers would assault people for saying it was fake so of course those guys had to be tougher just to keep up the act. That's probably why they cut themselves all the time during matches. They would take a punch then cut their forehead with a blade. Dusty Rhodes had a bunch of scar tissue on his forehead from that crap. Today everybody understands it's scripted so they don't have to go too overboard on the violence. Make no mistake though, it's still dangerous in there even though it's scripted.

i was born in 2002 and grew up watching WWE from 2008-2016. I didn't't even grow up during the attitude era but I've seen lots of clips and matches from it and i can say that the attitude era was way more edgier not as kid friendly. Then i turned on WWE the other week seen what it's like today and its way more kid friendly even since 2008-2016 era.

Here's where Reigns went wrong. He mentioned TSA that's the whole point. It's easier for wrestlers now who can fly everywhere at anytime cause they are paid better and more planes etc.. back in takers day and before they did nothing but drove. And usually 4 to a car sometimes 5

Don't even like much of the new stuff but Reigns is a legit superstar. Booed him for years like everyone else but he is now THE GUY. No one else is really a star...

Goldberg can't even wrestle anymore the comeback matches are less to 2 minutes or 3.

They bang on about how "WWE may seem soft due to the PG era." But it's not just that, it's nothing but a circus now days. Undertaker is right when he said they just try to make themselves look "pretty". The acting over the past several years as been atrocious as well. Back in the Attitude era & Ruthless Aggression era, you had wrestling strikes and maneuvers that were more fierce and hard-hitting. (Not talking about weapons either) The reality is, most of the current roster would be nothing more than low to mid-carders or wouldn't even make it back in the day. The current generation don't know wrestling & are becoming easily offended. They're a bunch of circus clowns, nothing more, nothing less.

They don't stand a chance at all to guys like Stone cold Steve Austin and the Rock or Kurt Angle from 2002 who was way better and would destroy more that 80% of the current wwe roster we have today. 1999-2002 Triple h. would have buried Roman Reigns and the entire wwe roster in the attitude era and even ruthless aggression era hhh. Roman has been golden as of late with his current heel turn no denying it one of the best parts about smackdown but making a statement such as saying: A retired wrestling pretending to be gangsta is just asinine at best. Undertaker is a real og and he knows exactly what he meant/ talking about. He does not have to re word his point. Todays wrestlers/ product are soft. Everything is cookie cutter with the exception of a few who stand out and alot that don't. Back then stars were not afraid to step to vince if they felt a way now everybody walks on eggshells scared of the man. Back then they were men. The characters were believable back then due to them being able to improvise and introduce about 89 percent of their real selves into their characters example= Austin and American Badass Taker was just them being who they are while amped to a hundred. Men had manliness about them in a way where you thought most of them would destroy you if you disrespected them in anykind of way as apposed to now where you don't take nobody seriously because you just don't. Taker told the truth. He doesn't exactly want stars to drink at bars and get into fights what he meant was stars needs to stop acting like a wrestler and be the wrestler. Don't be afraid to pitch ideas no matter if you get turned down or not, Don't get punked out, and don't kiss ass. Yet Roman who is good at the moment but has not even had to go through the countless injuries or wars that taker has had yet he wants to talk on how gangster taker is??? Nope it just doesn't work like that. If Roman last for 15 more years then he can talk but right now he has to continue to do even more than what he's doing yes he had some great matches but he has to do more and last longer. I glad he beat leukemia cause wish that on nobody but point is yes overall in this explanation of takers point is that todays product and wrestlers are soft.

If Brock Lesnar played video games, Undertaker wouldn't care, because Lesnar always delivers. The point is that sometimes it feels like that's all current superstars do nowadays, because they don't hone their craft, ratings keep dropping, and they keep having to bring back old-timers to boost them. Video games are probably a bad scapegoat. Undertaker probably plays them with his wife and daughter. Undertaker's point is that they don't hone their craft as intensely as him, but sadly all they hear from him are video games, guns and knives.

There were stars, by their own admission, that carried guns and knives. I saw an interview with Kamala where he talked about carrying a knife then a gun because he was afraid Andre was going to beat him to death. I saw an interview with Stevie Ray from Harlem Heat in the locker room carrying a gun and it was for protection too. I don't put a lot of faith in rumors but when it's the actual people admitting to it it's hard not to believe. I think each wrestler has to look inside themselves and determine if they are soft or not. By that I mean would they have been successful in the 70's, 80's, or 90's? Would they have shined during the attitude era? I think the reason Taker calls them soft is maybe they should put more work into developing their characters or work harder to improve their move sets instead of playing video games.

Well 1st not all Romans and others fault ...every payperview was unique with its own stage props set up and gimmick the papyperviews all had they're own identity...smackdown and the fist the elemination chamber mateces where bloody hell in a cell mactches bloody high impact with its own hype ..wwe creative could step it up ....EACH MATXH HAD ITS OWN THEME..the music matched it felt like a spectacle

WWE is soft, which makes a lot of the wrestlers soft, but Roman ain’t one of them, it’s like saying Randy Orton wouldn’t make it back then just because now he’s in PG era and it’s boring, like the storylines aren’t really their faults

@@DGS_1992 I agree but also I think there’s a handful of guys who u can see are great and would be able to hang back then with the OGs if they had the right storyline, the wrestlers are only seen as weak because they are now on a pg show, u can see with a good story and when guys can say what they want, guys like Rollins, Reigns and Orton are very good

Undertaker was right though not just the wrestlers but the WWE in general is soft today it’s definitely lost it’s edge it’s not the same as it use to be and not near as great.

God man these guys need to stop being defensive and realize there a certain part of the wwe thats soft compared to back in the day and work on it .. instead of saying "hey we're not soft, I do this this this and this" figure out what does he mean...this is taker saying it not sum jackass fan like myself that says it on message boards every day..so there has to be a lil Truth..

Taker has every right to his opinion but someone else has every right to disagree. They don’t have to agree bc it’s taker. He more than anyone should understand the power lies in Vince’s hand, not any ons wrestler.

7 talk show's with a tag team champion with kno tag division but there worried about having talk show's tf why not make triple tag team champion what a 3 hour show bring back the new day and make some triple tag teams tf are some regular because honesty i only watch raw for olmos and aj styles after i know it's going to be another talk show only thing stoping wwe rite is raw&sdl has no tag division a wrestling company needs a tag division no matter what without it it's going to suck

Todays wrestlers are good, no doubt, but they lack character Before we had The rock- a cool and funny and self obsessive guy Stone cold - a beer drinking! No rule following guy Bret hart- a great technician Shawn michaels- great in ring performer; HBK Rey mysterio- a luchador Kane - a big guy; micahel myers Taker - a dead guy Now we dont have any characters Reigns - angry man Kevin owens - angry man Seth rollins -i dont understand his character Bray wyatt - no disrespect, but the fiend character is really unbelievable. When you picture supernatural u picture, michael myers, jason vorhees, but he looks like a chubby guy in mask Dean ambrose - total bullshit Braun - big guy who is always at the top mid card level. Doesnt win when it counts

I agree that’s what I’m saying, u can see all the wrestlers are technically great, arguably, actually definateoy better than the old times at least most of them, it’s just how are guys supposed to be as loved by adults when they have to be pg, u see sparks of brilliance from guys when they have the right storyline and aren’t forced to be ultimately pg, like Reigns is good I think on Mike and Wrestler, Rollins a good wrestler and with the right storyline he’s good on Mike, Randy a good wrestler and great in Mike and when bray wyatt had the wyatt family that shit was great but this new character is shit, honestly they need a complete revamp, bring in new guys and fuck being pg, just keep some of the great guys that even at pg are still somewhat respected, Reigns, Rollins, Orton, Mclntire I guess. Also Reigns is more of a cool non shalant guy rather than angry

I'm not saying its entirely the wrestlers fault. But lets tale for example Jon Moxley, Andrade etc. Jon went on a rant that he was being held back at the WWE. Okay, then he went to AEW where he said he had creative control, so what happened? He has the same character, same promos style. Andrade was released. No doubt he is a great wrestler. But he went to AEW to become ANDRADE EL IDOLO. What is the difference in the character when he was in the Wwe and AEW. I see nothing. Most wrestlers that have gone from WWE to other promotions kinda have the same character but are a tad bit angry. And some wrestlers do have the permission to change their looks, but what do they change? Sasha changed her hair colour. Seth shaved his sides. John moxley started wearing trunks. Miro coloured his hair yellow. Back then all of them looked different. But it's the fans fault too. They cheer the heel, boo the babyfaces. Get after a certain wrestler, chant fucking "you deserve it", "that is awesome" for a split second and later "Booooo".

The WWE Has Gone Soft i mean look at the whole Show brand It's not the same how it was way back in the 90's See WWF is Way Much Better than the WWE And if you don't believe me Go watch some old Wrestling classic on KZread Of The WWF ATTITUDE ERA See Edge has been in the Wrestling business way longer than Roman reigns and if you watch some old footages of Edge back in the 90's or the early 2000 and 2001 Era and 2002 the WWF was kicking Ass Several years ago and there's video proof of Edge being a 10000x Better than Roman reigns.

Eh in fairness Roman would murder Taker in a real fight even in his prime and Taker is my favorite of all time but that's the reality of it.
