Nice technique! One question though: I wonder why you cross your legs on the arm bar? I thought if you don't cross your legs, you can put more pressure in the guys head, preventing him from stacking you?

Yes, it's a trade-off. Usually we don't cross our feet so we can put more pressure in the guy's head preventing stacking as you said. In this specific technique, I'm controlling his arm with one arm only, while my other arm is controlling his leg, so my control over his arm is not as good as controlling his arm with both of my arms. Since it's a step-by-step slow armbar, there is a bigger risk of him timing it and pulling his arm out if I don't cross my feet. So I'm crossing my ankles to prevent him from exploding and clearing his elbow. If he stacks me, I proceed with the rolling armbar.

If I may add professor. Crossing your feet is no taboo in bjj. You just have to understand the position. When you do not cross your feet, your knees (inner thighs) squeeze to keep the elbow. If you cross your feet then the knees widen and you press your hips up to retain the arm. Both are correct. In this series it makes more sense to cross the feet. I think the Crossed feet version is seen more in Judo but I may be wrong (Rousey used the crossed feet version a lot I think). Good stuff sir.
