Rollerblade Twister Edge 3WD 110mm Review

Спорт

These Rollerblade Twister Edge are a nice evolution from the older Twister skates. They are low cuff, v-cut. Come with a First Fit premium liner. A shock eraser in the heel. Anti-torsion box to increase the sole rigidity. Hydrogen 110mm wheels with ILQ Twincam 9 bearings.

    Yes! Riding big wheels was refreshing for me too. Made me love skating even more because of the speed you can get and you don't have to worry about cracks or crummy pavement.

    @@THEMUDVILLEPROJECT After a couple of weeks of riding them, I think these are for experienced riders . It is harder to skate. Starts and stops are harder. You get more speed which is very cool. But you must have strong legs and good skating skills overall. I really like them because I have 20+ years of rollerblading but I would not recommend these for a beginner.

    Fresh For a beginner you could be right. A beginner would be better off with 4x80mm but then again these are really fun. Once you get going, it’s easier to skate with momentum and start to carve.

    Agree that they are an all around tighter fitting skate. The RB model is wider I hear but I'm not a fan of the black w/red cuff + giant star. I'm waiting for the RB 80 DA skates to be released here in the US, maybe I can give them a try.

    @@THEMUDVILLEPROJECT lol, i actually never even realized that there was a giant star there. I'm on the verge of trying the RB 80 again (i did in the past but i experienced some ankle pain. I heard the tongue of the liner is the issue, and trimming it might be the solution. Also i already had a sore ankle from the twister 80 so, not sure if the rb80 were that bad.... And i just returned them). Looking at what RB did with the RB80 pro, i'd be surprised if that RB DA shows up in the US... there are many models that just never cross the sea

    How do you like 110 vs 125mm wheels? I have a lot of poor concrete where I skate but not sure if the bigger size is a worthy trade-off to the reduction in manouverbility.

  • @THEMUDVILLEPROJECT

    @THEMUDVILLEPROJECT

    DirkaDirka07 if I had one choice, I’d get 110mm. The 125mm are faster but they give you a more unstable, higher center of gravity. For me, it’s a lot more strain on the ankles and knees. 110 can roll over crummy concrete just as good.

    Sorry for the late reply. Yes, it's a snug boot for me also, I only click my skates two or three times for the buckle, I don't pull the laces and I don't even strap the 45 down. My foot is right under 25cm, almost to 25. Width wise, 10cm. They will slightly break in and feel good, maybe around 50 miles in.

    AcidOnHead I hope it fits in length. It takes a couple times for the liner to break in and it’ll give you just slightly more room. Just yesterday I put them on after riding another pair of skates for a couple days and they were tight but after like 5 mins of skating they felt great.

    I put over 50 miles on them so far. The liner is broken in and they fit great. This is my favorite 110 skate. I also have Powerslide Imperial Megacruisers 125mm that I used to ride with the 125mm wheels and a set of RB Supreme 110mm wheels. I prefer the Rollerblade over the Powerslide because they fit better and they're a more quality skate. These skates are $339 but they also make a 110 Limited Edition pair for only $279 which is cheaper. You lose the Hydrogen wheels for Supreme wheels and ILQ 7 bearings instead of ILQ 9.

I have seen the review of powerslide Next 110 and they look great and comfortable. I would go with powerslide Next 110 or the Seba FR1 310, because Seba are true fit and comfortable.

    Ben Kopecky Yes, thanks for asking. Since the quarantine I’ve been skating these everyday. The Twister Edge is a tight fit and the skate itself doesn’t break in that much. The liner is firm every time I put the skates on but skating them for a few minutes and it goes away. I prefer them because of the speed and the bigger wheels allow better cruising on crumbling streets. I’d really like to try the Rollerblade RB 110 but that red and star graphic is terrible. Enxify Like you’ve never rollerbladed before and you want to start? No because the skates are too high for someone that’s never skated before. There’s also no brake, so you’ll have to t-stop, slide or carve to slow down. The skates are fast too, something a beginner might be not used to. If you’re starting out, best bet is to try a 4x80mm set up which is pretty much standard for all companies.
