I am super interested in your fitness and health videos as well. I came from the skating but I’m staying for everything else! I hope you are doing well 💖💖💖

I feel like the skate every day challenge is not good for most people. It makes skating a chore, not fun. I saw a lot of people on ig start skating, progress very fast, post on ig everyday and then stop because they burned out. Thank you for being honest, love your videos.

I agree. I feel like some people are forced to skate everyday. I personally prefer only going roller skating when I feel good and want to have fun. I do respect everyone that tries or have tried to join this skate challenge. I could never do it...

I started skating in October 2020. I watched your documentary during my process and it was very motivational. It made me realize that i wasn't the only one falling and struggling. Skating definitely changed my life too. I actually learned how to build roller skates and am gonna turn that into a side business.

Everyone progresses different in skating. Some people start out more coordinated because they have dance or athletic backgrounds, etc. No 2 people are gonna progress at the exact same rate. Kudos to you Linda!

A lot of people count the day's that way, so they can see their own progress. That's what you should do it for. Do it for you, and only if it feels right. Even with all the positives and opportunities that came to you from rollerskating and your posts, you don't owe anybody in this community anything! It's fantastic you feel so grateful for this happening to you, it shows what a nice, warm, sincere person you are (and we love you for it), but the community did not do a lot. Please understand that, it came on your path because of your hard work, the honesty and vulnerability you put into it. ♡ If others compare themselves to you/someone else, they do that in all areas of their life where they feel uncomfortable or unsure about. It's not your responsibility to make then feel good about themself. It's theirs, most and foremost. If you want, you can just keep reacting in a kind way, if they are feeling insecure, to boost them. But it doesn't have to come from you constantly even if it's your channel. Don't feel like you let your followers down if you don't/can't. There are a lot of reactions on your posts and it's a shared responsibility to react kindly and be supportive of one another by all members of this community, and they do most of the time. So if you're not able to lift them up, someone else will/can. And if comments are nasty or disempowering, like you said, just let it be. So happy to hear you can. Please never feel pushed. If you do anything, do it for you! People that care about you want you to be free to discover and follow your path, what's good for you. They don't want you to get overwhelmed by things you think you owe others and for you to start doing things just to make them happy. They are most happy when you thrive, are in your element, are relaxt and happy. And you should not care as much for the ones that don't care for you. Follow your gut and your heart, lovely. Good luck with your new job. Enjoy! Lots of love!!♥️

"Picking up roller skating was probably one of the best things I have ever done for myself..." THAT'S it. It's for yourself and no one else. The first time I roller skated, I cried ACTUAL tears of joy. It changed my life too. I have a very similar story about counting the days I practiced. I always felt like I needed to improve each time but progress is not linear. Once I let that go, I was able to have fun again and I realized that was the most important part for me. I love how genuine and honest you are about how you feel about the sport and it makes me so happy to hear that it has made such a positive outcome in your life :)

Hi Linda. As somebody who started a couple of months after you last year, in their childhood passion, I completely agree that social media has made skating almost a competitive hobby. Although I'm on IG, I don't like to post as I'm self critical of my progress and I haven't documented myself at all in my life. Those of us who like/love skating will continue to do it because we want to and can. I've put myself down when I can't get past a new move or solidifying one, when I know I shouldn't. Keep doing what you're doing because you know what's important for you. It's hard for us that work days to keep up with such a fulfilling sport but we find time when we can. I do my skating during my lunch hour and though it helps me relax, I feel rushed to do something I like. I also have had to do it alone this entire time, but I'll keep doing it because it makes me happy. 💜🌷

Hey Linda! Thank you for sharing your life journey with the world. 💜 I’m still growing and learning about myself at 51! Continue to do what YOU feel passionate about and it’s totally acceptable to put some of those things on the back shelf for a while -when the fire burns low for those pleasures in life! Evolve! That’s what we are supposed to be doing if we are to grow and become “our best selves” at that moment in time. I’ve roller skated since I was around 8 years old. Left it during my late teens and early 20’s then returned in my late 20’s then left if while I grew my family and returned after my kids were toddlers! That could be called a hobby or call it a passion.. it turned into a sport for me when I played rollerderby. Now it’s a hobby again. Park, path, dance.. Whatever you WANT it to be or to see it as. My career is not rollerskating and it never was intended to be. 🙂 Keep on keepin’ on Linda!

Also, I run a KZread account with a single kind of viral video, and even that has added so much pressure on my life. We make videos on a variety of topics and we've gotten a couple comments like "What is this channel even about?" and it's really gotten to me. But when I found your channel with a variety of topics, I felt so much better. I realized it's FINE for us to make videos on a variety of topics as long as we're having fun and feeling fulfilled. The people who care about us will stay and everyone else can go find other content they enjoy. I can't even imagine how challenging this time has been for you with so many more eyes on you, but just know your hard work on all your videos and your honesty really means a lot. I'm excited to see what's to come. Sometimes more often than not, I hit my dark times in life as well, still do. But it's videos like this that never fail to pull me right out of that help me push forward and enjoy the process of trying to go where I want to in life. I get hard on myself a lot, but seeing this helps me snap out of that. Helps me have my own back and understand that things will be okay as long as I keep pushing forward and staying strong. staying positive. I appreciate you tons and genuinely looking forward to continue following you along in your journey. Thank you 🙏

I know exactly what you are talking about. Today I tried for the first time roller skating, and I was so so scare for no reason than anxiety and I thought oh great another thing for me to fail, another thing I suck so much, and my bf tried to tough love me to do it, and I started to cry cs I felt like I was failing him too. I told him to go away and practice his own thing (roller blades) and I went to a isolated place and gave my first walk. It was awful cs I didn't do it properly and I forgot all the things I read and watched, but I did it, I came home knowing I gave my first step. Its waaay more than just a hobby, its proving to yourself than you can do stuff that you are terrified of doing but want to do so much. You were the first person who made this look human, cs we saw you fail and we felt empathy. u did something for us, tk u for that. sending awesome vibes from Brazil.

I loved seeing your progress as a fellow beginner. But I wasn't skating on a daily basis because I still have responsibilities I can't take time off for. And that's ok! We're adults and part of being an adult is knowing how to distribute our time efficiently. I know what it's like to get caught up in a hobby and fizzle out because it's a regular occurrence with my ADHD. It's a common mentality that we have to be really good at something, whatever hobby we take on, so we can be valued for our interests. (Rather capitalistic honestly) But I'm not doing this hobby for others. This is for myself. So I'm going to do as much as I feel comfortable doing and as long as I want to because this is how I relax. I'm so happy you were able to grow confidence and happiness with skating. I wish you the best!

Look, you got me emotional when you teared up! I have an 18 year old daughter. I have seen her get teared up over similar things. I hope you feel better. I hope you realize that you don't have to be at any certain point in time, whether by age or date, for any anything you are working on (except at work, there are deadlines at work). You will/should move through this life at the pace that is comfortable for you and brings you contentment. Also, sometimes all you should do is live and not focus only on progress and achievements and goals. Sometimes it's just fine to go out and enjoy the little things. Go get that taco! Go skate for fun, not progress! Have a nice day!

I just stopped counting my skate days myself. I just say "not that long" or "a couple months ago". I stopped for similar reasons. It's definitely a lot less pressure to be good when I stopped counting the days.

I totally understand your feeling with having to post all the time to stay relevant. Its one of the reasons im scared about if i become popular on social media. i only have around 3k followers on IG and i still find it overwhelming every now and then, I can't imagine having to deal with 18K followers. Do take breaks from social media in general though, i found it so refreshing to focus on things outside of my work or main hobbies

Im watching to learn from another beginner. Putting on skates after not using them for almost 20 years has been insane. Im using 3 wheel blades too. You can try on some new /different skates if you want to see if it makes you get back into it again. The 3 wheels really go over bumps easier and theyre faster. J need to learn to stop different ways now, theyre a little scarey. Keep up the channel! Vlogs are good too

Hi Linda, we follow each other on the gram, and I’m honestly glad you made this video. I feel like it’s very triggering when you have mental health issues, and your already hard on yourself ( me). I just came off of a very long hiatus from social media because of my mental health. So again, thank you. And also thank you for not being fake and staying true to yourself. I don’t like what moxi brand has done with that 365 day challenge.
