Here is an excellent cheaper alternative to upgrading the Valvetrain for your Small Block Chevy and gen2 LT1 owners.
Note: when doing these modifications it is always wise to check the pushrod length and motion of the sweep of the rocker arm across the valve to ensure proper valvetrain geometry.
The parts used are from Speedmaster.

You cant use chinese roller rockers that fall apart and puts lots of bearing needles in your engine....the guideplates from China are too soft after only some 100 miles the pushrods wear them off, get Crower or Isky quality parts.

I’m in the middle of all the same problems. I bought the speed pro setup with new heads, screw in studs, roller rocker’s, push rods and guide plates. It came with new valve covers that are taller to accommodate the rocker’s height. Buuuut 🤦🏻‍♂️the covers will not clear the wiper motor and A/C compressor on my 86 Corvette and the higher rise intake will require me to cut a hole in the hood and install a hood scoop to accommodate the carburetor and eliminate the tune port injection. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Anyway depending on what vehicle you are putting this setup in? I should have thought it through and considered the clearance of the components and the size of the engine compartment! Everything else works perfectly from Speed Pro but will now have to modify the vehicle to accommodate.😰

Hey man I am consuming your videos as coke. Do I really need to remove the engine to get this job done? I recently bought a TA 95, found it in a barn, no tags no plates. I want it to be a nice reliable 600hp city rider. I am learning everything I can to DIY and you are an awesome source of knowledge.

Dude you rock idk if you remember me I was building the same lt1 in my 95 I got it all running and stuff trying to dial it in but the tune is way out of wack do you recommend anyone .. cars got a rebuilt lt1 with a cc 280 xfi cam and cc spring upgrade stock rr's pacesetter mid length headers no cat or muffler with cutout throttle body air foil etc.....car keeps going lean in closed loop I've ran open loop only seems better but would like to run it the way it's intended ya know ....idk I'm just looking for ideas I've check fuel pressure at steady check leap Downs on the injectors themselves yeah I've been trying to track this issue for a while cars got blue smoke once it gets into closed-loop I got it running and speed density mode right now and it's stuck there because the dongle for my OBD 1.5 connector broke so I have to get a new one

Hello, I have a 1994 Z28 LT1 engine, is it possible to install 2.02 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves? Summit Racing does not have availability for the LT1. You know the larger numbers of intake and exhaust valves for the LT1. Would the larger valves from the GEN I engine fit in the LT1 heads? Congratulations on your videos, I'm from Brazil and I'm building my LT1 with the GM Performance LT4 kit, thank you. Roc On The Rock V8 🤜 ⚔️ 🤛 🏁 🎱 🇧🇷 🇧🇷👻

isky guideplates dont hit the arp head bolts or the spots on the head. cheap parts = poor fitment. felpro 1074 lt1 head gaskets do not have issues either, as they do not have the stock style holes.

thank you for your input 100% on the felpro... (remember this is a cheap build lol ) on the guide plates they are for regular sbc which don't have any problems fitting.... lt1's are always kinda funky with guide plates... kinda have to disagree with you on the speedpro parts they have come a long way and for the price they are not half bad for their intended use ... hey i see your in nj where abouts ?

yes i have had even name brand rockers fall apart... this is why i am doing videos like this because I too also wanted to find out how good these rockers are and to my surprise the rocker arms are well made and have used them on many engines in the past ... these are definitely better then most of the other no name stuff out there... (note i will not use the no name aluminum rockers because i have found the material to be softer then the band name stuff
