Roller Filter Update- Incredible!
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
Just over a month ago I installed two Clarisea SK-5000 Roller filters in the sump of the 300G cichlid tank. Being my first time ever using this type of filtration, I was skeptical. I did not know what to expect, and was anxious to see if the hype was worth it. So here is my one month update.
I monitored the Roller Filters the past few weeks....waiting for something to malfunction or not work properly. So far, it has been uneventful. The filter “paper” is 20 microns, which is 10 times finer than the 200 micro socks they replaced. That said, the water is insanely crystal clear, no particles of any type floating in the water column.
I have to say that I am shocked at how long each roll is lasting,o especially with the bio load I have with this amount of full grown peacocks and haps. Originally I anticipated 3-4 weeks out of a roll. It is now clear that I will get at least TWO months worth out of a roll if not more. So far so good, I will make a six month update to see where we are down the road with them and how they are holding up. Thanks for watching!

Good review. Glad it’s working out. Sparkling water.
Very cool
Nice tank
Do you have a video showing you installing the rollers and how they work?
I'm thinking about buying this brand of roller system. My question is my main tank is 210-gallons with a 70 gallon sump. Should I run 2 of these filters in my sump as well? I to am keeping Haps & Peacocks. Thanks
Great Tank. Can you tell us about the background .. the rocks .

Thank you. If you get a chance have a look at my channel, there are vids on my 3D backgrounds.
Great looking tank! Can you zoom out and spend a little more time filming your sump set up? Thanks

Could be from stress possibly. I’ve never experienced any of my fish darken down due to black sand on any of my tanks.

I've seen this before, many fish do change their colour to blend in to their environment, so by darkening your substrate, their natural defence is to blend in more. There's nothing to worry about, it's their natural reaction.
Titanic work..
