ROLLER BLIND FIX, how to fix a blackout blind ( 4K )

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

how to fix a broken roller blind.
A broken window blind can be a pain but this DIY roller blind fix is quite a easy fix. some people could try this fix on their blinds before buying a new one. in the video you will see how to fix the roller blind mechanism to allow the blind to be opened and closed with ease, you will see how to dismantle the mechanism, fix and re assemble. this is the same for a lot of blackout blind as well.
IMPORTANT : the blind and cord should be installed correctly and in accordance to the guidance, legislations and instructions from the manufacturer and can be seen on the GOV UK website, the cords/string/chain ect.. on blinds pose a strangulation risk especially to children. so it is important they are fitted safely, correctly and kept out of reach of children.

    Thank you. I have an altogether different mechanism... all plastic & a thread that winds & unwinds on a spool. Your video did help me to know how to pull out mechanism to see inside & fix it. Moreover, your attempt gave me courage & confidence to go for the job. I am really very grateful to your help through this video ❤😊

    brilliant - thank you neither of us are very handy - so super impressed you showed us how to dismantle our blind - in our case Ithink it was just the chord had jumped out of the track - the blind was stuck 1/2 way down and wouldn't move . We got it back together and now it works

    Same shade and mechanism, but in my case the plastic chain came off. I tried to get it back on by taking the outside chain protector off (not necessary) but then I stumbled on your fix and pulled the entire mechanism away from the shade, as you instructed, and fed the plastic chain one link at a time, with the point of a screwdriver, until it came out the other side and pulled it out the rest of the way and snapped it secure. Lucky I had another proper shade to mimic but would have gotten nowhere without your vid. Thank you.

    Thanks for the video! I have a quick question- In my case, I am having those vertical slat blinds and I have 2 issues and would greatly appreciate your response! (1) In my living room window blinds, only 1 out of the total 9 blinds move when I pull the rope attachment. The remaining 8 blinds just stop moving along with the first one after 2 seconds of pulling my rope attachment so there is this huge gap created when I close the blind and sunlight comes right in.What to do about it? (2) For my bedroom window blinds, i ma having the same issue but in this case 4 out of 9 blinds move after pulling the rope attachment. The remaining 5 just won’t move at all after a while so it creates a wide gap and sunlight comes right in. How to solve this issue? Thanks ahead of time for your response🙏

  • @RustyDIY

    @RustyDIY

    on mine its the little bent bits on the spring bit and a part of the mechanism has a plastic nib on that sits between them, and their is the other plastic part that is wider than the spring bits, so depending what the mechanism is doing it can push against the spring to either loosen it or make it tighter so it spins or holds in position. but that is just how mine works its hard to try describe and there is probably loads of different variations. sorry if this doesn't make much sense.
