Rolf Harris Pelted With Bottles And Full Beer Cans

In 1979, a New Year's Eve concert on the steps of the Sydney Opera House turned into a drunken bloodbath. Shortly after walking on stage (but not shown in this clip), Rolf Harris picked up one of the empty beer cans hurled at him and went to take a drink. "Ahh, it's empty!" Funny?
Soon, full cans of beer came flying out of the crowd. Harris got hit at least 3 times. Unfortunately, he sustained no injuries.
Later in the evening, however, Australia's legendary hard rockers The Angels were hit by cans, empty champagne bottles and sheets of signage, ripped from the front of the stage.
This was Australia's Altamont. Live concerts at the Sydney Opera House were banned for decades. Such levels of drunkenness and random violence were not unusual in Australia, then or since. Numerous people walked away with bleeding head wounds, 65 people were taken to hospital, and more than 40 were arrested.

It was ridiculous that such a smaltzy act as Harris was put on that bill. It was a rock and pop line up and most people there there to see the hard rock pub band, The Angels. The show was broadcast live on tv and Harris was there for variety to entertain the little kids and mums and dads at home. The drunk teens and 20 somethings weren’t having it. Harris was hooked early to try and appease the crowd by getting The Angels on early. Unfortunately by then, pelting the stage had become a game for the crowd and it was ironically Doc Neeson, the singer from The Angels, who the crowd was there to see, who wore a large bottle in the head before the band were even halfway through their set. Thus ended the show and the crowd didn’t get to see the show they wanted to see so badly.

I don't know. Mass hysteria can be a funny thing. Especially with a bunch of drunken Ozzies. Harris was found guilty of groping. And he was denied a retrial. I wonder why. He was found guilty by a jury. Not by a judge. Remember O.J. Simpson was found innocent by a jury. But guilty by a judge in the latter civil court. Later more people accused Harris, but he was not found guilty. And one of his groping cases was later overturned. According to Wikipedia.

The Harris persecution is a scam by a few lawyers and their quest for money. These lawyers use long-term substance abusers seeking compensation money. The sensationalist media prejudiced the jury for a year before the trial. I researched every smear the media produced and it was ALL just hysterical muck raking. Take the 7-year-old 'victim' for example, the media love to imply to us that Harris abused a 7-year-old. In fact she is Wendy Wild, a 54 year-old long-term substance abuser. This is the best example the feminist media could use to promote the theme of the male perpetrator + female victim. Wendy Wild decided to go for some Harris money after she went bankrupt. In 2012 she alleged that Harris gave her a swift touch when she was at the head of an autograph queue, in a crowded community hall in Leigh Park, Portsmouth, 45 YEARS in the past. Of course when this (fictitious) event happened, she didn't tell anyone and no one saw it happen. She didn't mention it until 2012 when the Harris estate was available for scamming, and after the CPS and the compensation solicitors started trawling for victims with the lure of compensation money. It has been proven, by the police who were seeking evidence, that Harris was not at the location in Leigh Park, Portsmouth, where she alleges this happened. Harris was not there either 3 years before or 3 years after the year that Wendy Wild was 7 years old. The police searched the news archives, they questioned the staff of the hall in Portsmouth, they letter boxed residents of the town and they interviewed people in aged care facilities. The police who did all this work are disgusted that Wendy Wild's accusation still resulted in a conviction. During the Harris trial she claimed Harris assaulted her after a rendition of the hit song, 'Two Little Boys' .. but this song hadn't been produced by Harris when she claims she was assaulted. (The song was written in 1902 to tell the story of two boys who grew up to fight in a war, with one saving other's life). How this case wasn't thrown out very soon in the investigation is beyond belief. Her allegations were laughable.

I think John English was on before him, and for reasons I dont recall his set was cut short, something like only 10 minutes of a 40 minute gig. Anyway after that no one was interested in listening to kids songs for an hour. After the show things were no better. There were running battles at the train stations and even on the trains
