This is a fantastic performance. No matter what you might think of Rolf Harris, and I do think he correctly faced quite a bit of accountability for his actions over the years, he was was a fantastic performer back in the day, and I am glad these clips still exist..

And I sang this also when I was a kid in the mid sixties. I'm 6 years old when this came out. We had an on 45 when I lived outside of Chicago. And that was the 1st imitation I did of a British or Cockney accent. Of course I got way better when I got into Monty Python as a 15 year old 1974 lol!

My dad was deputy head youth leader in a purpose built youth club in Mill Hill the head leader was very keen on am Dram & put on concerts one included this song sang by a real rogue they did pantos playas from Dickens to Shakespeare he had loads of contacts in business who used to help,make costumes & do background music & artwork good days

@@adoreslaurel There are people who aren't evil scum trying to destroy with false allegations. One allegation was he felt up some girl's skirt during a shoot. She was wearing a knee length skirt, and they were both in front of a room full of people and cameras. There was no way he could have done it "in secret" as she alleges.

I love this performance. And I still believe that Rolf Harris gulit was exaggerated and overblown and that he has been done a very tragic misdeed of justice.

Can anyone remember the series that Joe did, either for Carlton or Thames TV around late 80s / early 90s where he went round to different parts of London, and interviewed a few people in each area? I seem to remember he interviewed ex-Foreign Secretary David Owen.

Where are the charmingly witty verses to this old dance hall war horse? I suppose we can't complain, though. Most don't even give the introduction!

Of everyone that was rightly arrested tried, convicted and sentenced under operation yewtree .... I really hoped Rolf would be found not guilty. I really didn't want it to be true. Such talent, charisma and style, from my childhood to the present day I loved this guy. However, I cannot overlook the fact that he was found guilty by a jury beyond all reasonable doubt of the crimes he was accused of, and for that, he deserves everything he got. Stripped of all his life's achievements and locked up in a prison like the scum he is. I do still look upon these videos with great admiration for his skills and talents, but it's such a shame that what he was accused of was true.
