Excellent, honest review. I have the BB58 and it monopolizes most of my wrist time over my 2000 Explorer2. I went to my AD 3 years ago to check out a 2000 Sub. Next to it was the Explorer2. The Sub felt more top heavy on my 6-5/8” wrist than I expected and the large crown dug into my hand. It felt like a watch I would wear occasionally. Next to it was the Explorer2. When I tried it on it simply melted onto my wrist and I knew I can wear this every day. Add the 24 hour hand and cyclops and it had everything the GMT dial had. The fixed steel bezel added that uniqueness that differentiated it. As much as I’ve lusted for a Sub, it’s look has become so ubiquitous, and I’ve been wearing similar styles for so long that it felt somewhat anticlimactic to finally wear it. I tried on the BB58 2 years ago on leather and it was perfect in looks and comfort. 2 years later my AD finally had a steel BB58 and I grabbed it and have been getting a tremendous amount of use with it. As much as I want a Sub for posterity and it’s iconic status, I would probably wear my BB58 most of the time if I had it.

Hi and thank you for your comment. The Exlr 2 is a very cool watch, I can see why you like it. Agreed the sub does feel too top heavy for me also. Love the sub, just not this sub, an older one…. Maybe. The BB58 is just about perfect and now that I have it on a Jubilee, telling you, it looks and feels even better. I am working on a review on this jubilee I have on it now. It’s stunning. I recently (Nov 2021) bought the Black Bay 58 Navy Blue to compliment a range watches in my collection that include the classic Rolex Submariner Date 16610 which I've cherished for 19 yrs. The Tudor BB 58 is a solid, very well-made luxury timepiece and I appreciate its rather understated blue dial and bezel. Like-for-like think of the Blue 58 version as a more modern take on its original black and gilt sibling. But after watching some of your helpful videos, plus many others, I succumbed and I have just purchased the BB 58 Black version on 20 Dec 21. I do love the blue, but I also adore the warmer look that the black exudes, not to mention the slightly darker shade of steel Tudor has cleverly used to add slight differentiation. Maybe now owning identically-made watches, with the exact same specs, bar the colourways, is crazy, but hey it's Christmas after all !

I hope the BB58 will take in T-fit adjustment some day (e.g. BB58 bronze clasp). Except clasp, BB58 is perfect diver watch ever made

I put my bb58 on a Tudor Ranger bracelet with a t-fit clasp. Plug and play. Perfect fitment. 🎉

I really enjoyed your video mate I was lucky and found a BB58 available at the new Tudor boutique in my home town. Unfortunately I had a tiny dust grain beneath the glas and the watch is currently in Swiss at Tudor’s manufactory. But I love the watch!! I really wished that my BB58 had some sort of quick adjust clasp like the glide lock. I am planning to compare my BB58 to my 124060, but need to spend more time with both.

That lack of adjustments, is probably the no 1 reason ppl part with this watch. I saw your Sub, very nice man. Allot better case. I’ll watch your comparison.

I own both models. If I had to choose/keep just one…..it would be the BB58 blue. Both are excellent watches, but the Tudor just sings more to me.

The Tudor is a beautiful, vintage-inspired piece. Love the gilt. But, you are right, the Sub just exudes luxury. There is a timelessness about it.

Hey Brent, absolutely gorgeous watch. That being said the Tudor BB58 does it all for me. Ok except for straps, don’t like the look of it on straps, that’s why I’m keeping it on the bracelet most of the time. Cheers friend.

I’m with you not a fan of the maxi case on the Rolex but would love an older model but I can’t justify spending so much. I have the black bay 58 & it’s become my one watch that I’ll grow old with & hand down to my son. Love the the vintage look, just hope they release the T fit clasp for it soon. Anyway great review 👍.

@@TerraThink it might but only for new models. They’ll do something to only fit a new type of bracelet. To protect Rolex’s glide lock

Just looking at the watches the Tudor BB58 is the better looking watch in my opinion. But I sure do love the 36mm Rolex Oyster Perpetual date just smooth bezel.

The Black Bay is my fav watch. Absolutely perfect for me on my 7.5" wrist and super comfortable.

Amazing video! Subscribed! I totally agree with everything you've said in this video. Submariner has been my long wanted watch. But I just don't like it with the maxi case... I hope they will bring back the more elegant case back one day & I will buy a sub.. But currently, I have decided to get a bb58 for me. Hope I will like it

They’re probably same resistance. Rolex uses a different steel but not much difference for daily wear

Both superb watches. I think for the Tudor is better value for money though. Rolex’s are over priced.

I got BB58 for myself, and Submariner for my son. Both will be his someday. But I want him to grow up knowing what a humble man his father was. I also have Explorer 1, in case he is going to have his mama’s wrist size 😊

The Tudor is almost a perfect watch but the lack of quick adjustment and date make it fall short.

If the Tudor had a ceramic bezel with gilt numbering plus at clasp and it would be perfect. I am 400k from my net worth goal and will probably buy a BB58 in 3 or 4 years if my investments pan out. My most expensive Watch so far is a Ball Trainmaster.

I just can’t get enough of that vintage look of the bb58, don’t get me wrong the Rolex is beautiful but when comparing theses two together the Rolex looks more suited to a younger man. The Tudor is no doh t much more refined and classic looking more to my taste as man in his 40’s. The 60 click on the Tudor is so god Damn crisp ! Sublime . Great video loved it

I like both, but I prefer bb58.

Tudor for the win. Just like the style a lot more (and I'm no fan of the cyclops).

I wish the Tudor bb58 had a date complication but that's just a submariner lol. However, personally I like the look of the Tudor better than the submariner and I feel like I can actually afford a BB58. Maybe I'll buy one within the next year or two.

Rolex is on another level

18:47 Rolex bezel click action blows the Tudor out of the water imho. But it is funny to note how biased we are towards the watches we own. I knew without a doubt, that you were going to prefer the bezel action of your BB58 🤣🤣. Don't worry, I do the exact same thing with my watches lol.

Why you comparing the 39 BB58 - use the standard Tudor BB41mm - a mainly male watch. BTW, the steel on the Rolex is 904L. Leave a 316L steel watch and 904L watch under water for 100 years and the chances are the 904 will be less rusty. But Rolex don't use if for that reason. They use it because it polishes up better. More bling. 904L scratches more easily than 316L. But Rolex don't care. About 1% of people buying a new Sub are buying it for the name, the bling. Tudor are taking over Rolex's tool watch mantle - the thing that made them famous, being so good at their purpose - Rolex are moving more into precious metals. Because there are enough poseurs with enough money out there to buy it. Oh and btw, imagine if people found out that Rolex actually got their cases from China, would that change people's mind about the brand? Last point, you're less likely to having your arm macheted off wearing a BB than a Sub

The maxi case design was a big mistake by Rolex, and they knew it. That’s why they fixed it with the new 41mm submariner, which is the best submariner to date. That being said, there is absolutely no comparison between a submariner and a Tudor. Those watches are on two completely different levels.

Had both. Finishing and bracelet not up to par. Tudor just can be a Tudor it doesn’t have to be Rolex level.

My Tudor was finished very nice, scratched up now 😂😂 but was perfect at one point. The bracelet is finished nice but not fitting properly, no mater what I do. Cheers

The sound of bezels are best described as crunchy on the Tudor and crispy on the Rolex

Maxi-cased watches are bulky and ugly. The older watches are perfect watches, beautiful. The tudors are a bit top heavy, but are better looking.

The sub for me is a better watch and money aside (I.e. if someone was gifting me one) I’d want the sub. If I was buying for myself I’d get the bb58 and be quite happy with it. I wish the Tudor had a better adjustment on the clasp too. But truth be told the market price for Rolex is so high I’d never keep one unless it was a gift. Even if I got the opportunity to buy one from an AD at RRP I’d just sell it and get a free bb58 realistically/sadly. People paying £11-13k for them and I am not in a position to turn down that much.

Flippers like you don’t deserve to call from an AD. I was appreciative to have got the call for my Submariner 124060 and Pelagos FXD from my AD last year - both will be staying in my Collection to be worn and enjoyed. Idiots like you ruin it was people who actually deserves to get the watches 🖕

It then becomes yours to do with as you please. If you expect someone to turn down the money for a free family holiday out of some watch solidarity with fellow geeks online, you need your head examined.

Submariner ALL DAY the Black bay can only hope to be the iconic watch Submariner is 1 DAY. My favorite Tudor till this day is the Tudor Prince Big block chronograph and second favorite the Monte Carlo heritage chronograph. Also Tudor needs to stop with the faux rivets and just make a real riveted bracelet and stop with the faux crap.

Tudor anyday ...cheaper but still expensive, less in ya face ,looks better ,movement and parts not too far behind rolex at all ,tudor will be noticed by watch lovers ,rolex will be noticed by thief's...rolex lovers just love the price tag ..in another fashion going for the most expensive leaves u looking like a bell end ..same as a guy in a orange lambo vrs a mint rs 2000 ...

Rolex blows that garbage out of the water. Poorly threaded crown, misalignments, aluminum bezel, crappy customer service. You can't compare these realistically.
