I purchesed 126660 after owning 116610LN for several years. I thought it would be chunky and cumbersome but it wears and sits on my wrist perfectly. Now I think the submariner feels like a toy watch. I am 178 cm average build.

I have a 2008 Deep Sea. Box and papers. I love it.

One of the most honest and down to earth reviews...you sir, have a new subscriber! I picked my DSSD 126660 up from my AD last week and haven’t taken it off. My sub and GMT have been sat in the winder! You’re right, it’s a tank and does take some getting used to, but you hit the nail on the head when you referenced the quality. It’s not a big watch for anything other than what it was designed for, the build and the design is next level.

The SeaDweller and Deep Sea SeaDweller are two different watches, the Deep Sea blue gradient dial (James Cameron) is the beautiful one

those early morning shots ...gorgeous mood. Taking it up each week to a new level with that videography. Great watch to see. That's why we love watches, isn't it? To enjoy experiencing watches we have no interest in owning...just to take pleasure in.

Cheers Mike, the snow, sunshine was a good combo that day. Exactly that, it was a great experience and obviously a really nice watch, if I was to own it, I could not swap it out as the transition to another watch makes it feels like a kids watch for a day or so.

I really like your review. I bought this watch model from my AD 2 years ago. I had just started getting Rolexes and knew absolutely nothing about it when I bought it. I was disappointed to get home and realize it wasn't very popular and didn't have as much resale value. I have a 9 inch wrist, so I can wear it comfortably. I'm glad to see people like yourself showing this watch some respect. It makes me appreciate it more. Hopefully the value goes up. My AD called the other day with a James Cameron in stock, but I turned it down. Perhaps that was a mistake? Anyhow, thank you again. Great video. I'm subscribing!

I have the sea dweller 43 with an 8in wrist and love the size, I also love the bulkyness of the deep sea but just too big for an everyday watch.

Thumbs up for your content Andrew👍 I’ve got the James Cameron and rotate it with the Sub/GMT/Explorer II - it’s an absolute beauty and just as comfortable as the others if you’ve a decent size wrist - I wear it 24/7 no problem. An interesting point you make about the actual dial size - surprisingly it’s only a fraction bigger than the 34mm Air King!

@@watchandrew After a frustrating 2 years trying to buy my 1st Rolex my persistence with AD’s started to pay off - in the last 3 years I’ve been lucky enough to buy 7 steel sports from 5 different AD’s with no purchase history - including the Hulk and Batgirl - it can be done👍🙂

@@watchandrew Coming into the game as a novice I soon realised that the usual advice of forming a relationship with your local AD is a load of 💩 - I’ve still not been offered anything after 5 years despite repeated assurances. I went on the Rolex website and contacted virtually every AD in the UK - about 10 showed half an interest so I remained in contact with them every 3-6 months without being a nuisance - 5 of them eventually offered me steel sports. I’m sure you can do it with it your Yorkshire charm and banter 👍😉

I would love the D-Blue. The boutique in Bond Street called me a while ago and told me they had one available but as I’m freelance and work is a bit quiet at the moment, I had to let it go. Hopefully, one day!

Ma786sai Dua great video, I have a JC DSSD. I believe the all-black version 116660 or newer 216660 in Black with DeepSea in white text at 12o clock looks beautiful, yet cleaner and more even more handsome and serious than the blue gradient version with lime green DeepSea text.

Synchronicity - I just saw this Rolex in the window at my local jewellery shop for £11k box/paper’s and thought to my self that’s a lot of Rolex watch for the Money, “I wonder if I could pull it off” or would it be to big? (The taper on the bracelet looked amazing)I haven’t tried it on yet, and don’t know the difference between the 43mm vs 44mm is one a newer watch? Great review thank you....they also had a Rolex sub date on the newer bracelet for £10k that looked like a baby in comparison lol

This is a great watch, yes its big but its engineered to fit you comfortably and once you get used to its feel you dont even notice it being on you. It becomes a part of you....

Nice review. Its my grail watch and I'm currently on the hunt. While its large and chunky, I'm not sure why it gets hit with so much criticism when you have Breitlings at 48mm, Omega Planet Ocean at 45.5mm, some IWCs getting beyond 45, Panerais 47-48mm, I can go on and on...but this watch catches crap. Rolex can offer a variety of styles, models and sizes like other brands. Each appeals to a different segment of the population. While I have somewhat small wrists, I prefer larger watches. I had a 44mm Breitling, 45 mm Sinn, 44 mm Pam, 44 mm RGM and they all look fine on my 6.75 inch wrist. I recently purchased a new Omega Speedy Pro 3861 and while its beautiful, it just feels too delicate and light. I've also tried Tudor's Black Bay and again, just too delicate for my taste. If I'm going to spend a lot of money on a watch, I want to feel it on my wrist and know that it can survive what I will throw at it. I think the Deep Sea is perfect!

My AD had the James Cameron in about a month ago. Keep hunting and get your name on some lists and I think you'll get lucky. With my AD nobody had this watch on their list. He called me first just because I had mentioned it previously.

Those other watches get alot of criticism as well...especially Omega planet ocean line even the seamaster line. Watch ppl tend to the less manly side and a bit dramatic. Was shocked at how much smaller many of these watches were in person...that are supposed like clocks ...I have 7.25 inch wrist and all these fit fine. The breitling super avenger is bigger than I'd like..love my 45 seawolf...

Beautiful 🤩, but a little big for me . A submariner is the sweet spot , really lovely 😊 but to big . Great 👍🏻 video mate by the way the shots earlier in the video were very cinematic, reminds me of the timeless watch channel a bit , very beautiful 🤩

That' watch has one hell of a presence . It's a sub on steroids and in the gym all day. 🤣. I have an 8 inch wrist buts it's just too big for me Andrew . Great content as usual mate . Blackbay looks cool mate , enjoy wearing it 👍

A great watch, but I prefer the SD43 126600 which I bought instead, back in 2017. Not a fan of the ring lock and small dial compared to the case. I own another extreme diver, a Breitling Seawolf white dial.

@@watchandrew It wears great on flat wrists of 6.75in and above. Smaller wrists are better suited to a Sub IMHO, but some people prefer a big watch anyway. It's a heavy piece, like most extreme divers. It takes a while to get used to it if you normally wear smaller and lighter pieces.

So the Tudor Black bay 41 is not that bad lol

My dream watch. A delusion of mine is I'd win it in a conteet someday.

I had it many a few years back . It was way too thick for my liking and it rolled all over the wrist . As you say if you wear all the time you would get used to it . If you change out watches I found it was annoying. Also never liked how thick the sapphire was it made the dial look murky .and lacking clarity . 43 mm is now one of the easiest sports to get you probably wouldn’t have too long at a decent AD

This watch is fantastic; perhaps the most technically and horologically exquisite diver ever made. But it’s big and bulky. If only Rolex made a diver, with helium escape valve, that is 2mm thinner, 1mm smaller in case diameter, lighter, and better proportioned for daily wear....

Agree! My 136660 makes the sub look like a coin on the wrist, also fits better than the sd 43. Go big or go home!!
