Dafuk are you talking about? He was one of the most highly regarded singers in pop history. In one of the biggest bands if not the biggest band of the mid 80s, has awards, billions of views on KZread and everybody knows he’s got his amazing voice. And he’s pretty regarded as a guitar player, and incredibly brilliant songwriter. . It’s just his time is passed and there’s other things and younger people listening to music that is created by younger people.

@@Eric_In_SF yeah that's true, not quite as well known in my country though. everyone's heard shout and everybody wants to rule the world of course, but if i were to ask random people on the street who roland is, they'd have no clue who the fuck i'm talking about lol he's definitely not "very underrated" as i said 2 years ago, but he does deserve more recognition, even though he and tff are past their prime

Roland's songwriting ability blows me away. I think it's like when The Beatles began to do solo work - you got to see each one emerge as an individual - and learn about the way each component of the whole contributed to that familiar, overall sound. Will always have a deep, partly nostalgic affection for TFF, but both guys write so well as independent musical forces. Love ya, lads!

ALWAYS my favorite. Tears for Fears and Roland Orzabal had (has) something in the music, that spoke to me. The voice, the music, the lyrics. Music speaks to an individual or it doesn't. It's a feeling that is in the soul. I can't explain it. But, you know when it does. Love it.

Roland Orzabal has a classically trained voice with large vocal range. His voice is richer. His song writing talents are far better than most and the music is complex. He carried Raoul, Elemental, and Sowing the Seeds of Love by himself.

But.... as I'm in Australia several Albums weren't released here but, thanks to the wonderful internet, I have recently found and purchased through iTunes and I just LOVE Elemental and Raoul (I didn't even every see ELHE available here as a CD so bought it on iTunes)... but I prefer to have the actual CDs so have bought them through Amazon UK. Roland is just the most amazing song writer and...what a voice!

Maybe I did buy the albums in the UK....

It was inevitable that a group of musical masterminds would break up. Everyone talks of the Beatles but their real career "out there" was only about 7 years, TFF was musically adept at everything they did. Roland had a marvelous voice large range and DICTION. You could see when he sang he distinctly made sure that words were pronounced correctly. A rare talent any more for today's so called "singers."

Been in LOVE with Tears For Fears (Roland) FOREVER!!! I had 17 posters on my bedroom wall, 5 were Bruce Lee and the rest were TFF!!! I was so sad when they broke up. I just saw them this September in Los Angeles with Hall & Oates. It was definitely a TFF crowd, while they were preforming no one sat down. When Hall & Oates performed people started sitting down and at some point starting leaving. For me it will always be TEARS FOR FEARS FOREVER 😍

´Todos so temos a ganhar com a união deles!

"Songs from the Big Chair" is a perfect album and Tear for Fears' best. Almost every song on that album is a hit.

elemental was one of my most played albums of the early 90's. I played that album to death.

There both "westcountry" lads ( southwest England for those that don't know) born and bred in my home City of ( WORLD FAMOUS ) of 2000 yr old BATH. My older middle brother went to school with them. STILL one of the biggest and best band's of the 80's ! Even thou i am biassed.

Roland is the Driving Force and Vocal Power House of TEARS FOR FEARS, so of Course when he was a Solo Artist as Tears for Fears [kept the name] the Elemental Album was AMAZING. Glad the duo got back together after their Solo projects and have been performing Concert Tours the past 2 decades. They've been together & buddies for over 35yrs, since they were kids.

Roland, I hope you hear this. I'm one of those guys your age and Curt's who welcomed you both so happily in California. Look, in one of the joint interviews you and he each said that we in the Public cannot know whether ever again you guys decide to record together because, thank goodness, that's entirely up to you two. Still, you know what I'm about to say. In my irrelevancy, I find that you two, both jointly and severally, have made ever increasingly compelling music, and that your last effort together was the most accomplished and touching one of all. My girlfriend, a musician in her own right, felt the same. Obviously we cry out for more but if you two don't feel like it, we understand. Sometime I'd like to ask you or Curt, or you both, a single, straightforward question, for attribution and publication. Some other time, please. It's best as a surprise. Here's a foretaste though: Why are you guys so hard on yourselves yet so decent toward even a "Bad Man" in your midst? Is it because you forgave one another's weaknesses, as teenagers coming up, or are you each just basically decent in his own way? I'm asking because everything you wrote, including the early neurotic mirroring, is fundamentally kind. Were you, in a way, forgiving one another or were you consciously forgiving us all? I'm sorry this is so pretentious but I've ever wondered. My guess is that you and Smith tapped into something because you both were so determined not to crank out hack bullshit. In any case it was beautiful to my ears. Thank you.

He and Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull always made me feel like quitting as a lyricist. IMO - the two best I ever heard.
