vince wilson Me too. I was going to get the Yamaha cp88 but I love the old piano sound of the RD 1000.
Roland please update the RD-2000 Stage Piano, would be amazing to see this piano incorporate Zenology and bringing it up to date like Yamaha has done with the Montage M.
10:40 I got excited.. beatiful!
Does it matter what I plug this RD-2000 into for PA? I have an acoustic fender Amp 200 Watt and I have a powered PA Edison Proffesional that I picked up from Costco a 3 years ago. Will I get great audio output or what did he have it plugged into?
I guess I'm 'old school,' but instead of so much emphasis on SO many different nearly identical acoustic pianos, we used to value having some close as possible simulations of the most popular tone wheel organ sounds, & getting some Leslie on/off effects. It doesn't get stressed much in most keyboard demos these days. :-(
1) Does it have PORTAMENTO function? 2) does it have HAMMOND sound? and can we manage it with BARS? 3) how can we put WAH WAH Efect to CLAV sound?
Love this keyboard
The only thing I like about this product is its keybed and piano sounds. I have a montage 8... superb instrument!
Does Roland rd2000 have a instructions that are easier to understand? The manual I printed out is very hard to understand. I appreciate your help.
Hi, is it possible to correct brightness level for sliders and rate/depth knobs? I found just display brughtness correction, not sliders lighting, if someone owns and knows the answer?

Yes all the current RD models all have Tone color knobs.
Great intro worth a watch, expecting the postman tomorrow
Still today,i wish i had it.
Connect a Roland GoMixer powered by a power band to the AUX In for extra more input (",).
SO IS THE MOST ADVANCED ROLAND DIGITAL OUT NOW AND WAY ABOVE THE RD700-NX ???
Got mine last week. Pretty impressive...now I just have to learn how to use it.

You press the white and black keys and a sound can be heared. Its like magic.
ROLAND - Please make them faders so we can have a "Latch" mode, moving them makes the sound "Cut" to the required level. TY.
Hi, I am thinking buying one, but nowadays is RD2000 outdated? Or still a great option ?
You did not mention the sounds of the RD-1000 🤨
Ok, so... This is basically an RD-800 but better? How do the effects (tremolo, overdrive, ...) compare to the RD-800? Are there more of them? The presentation was good. I would have liked a few words about the effects and the "unusual" sound modulations you can do with this keyboard, but I understand that a presentation can't last two hours.

CugnoTheSwiss im an rd 800 user. I tried the rd 2000 several times at a music store and sounds basically the same.. the advantage of the rd 2000 is more knobs and sliders, and its great if you mix software sounds.. one more thing the rd-2000 has better built quality (the chassis is aluminum not plastic)... But,,,,, i didnt upgrade... its not an upgrade.. the rd-800 does the job in all situations..

All the effects are the same except the new vintage stompbox effects. The 1.5 software version adds a second rotary effect, also not on the RD-800.

@@instrumentalistjade8367 your rd800 does not have v piano engine.
Any new thoughts, ones that might be helpful, rather than full of expletives?

My stage piano is the Roland RD700-NX, great instrument. However on upgrading our studio to Mac OSX High Sierra (latest) we discovered that while upgraded drivers are available for Cubase (Steinberg), AudioBox44VSL plus VSt libraries, Roland has refused to provide a driver for the RD700-NX, making the piano unusable. This is presumably Roland's way of forcing people to buy their latest model. So much for a '10 year fit for purpose' warranty. I find this attitude calculating and demonstrating zero concern for their customer base. We therefore purchased the Nord Piano 3, mainly because unlike Roland, it has no dependency on software levels. Key takeaway: only buy Roland if you are happy to have an expensive, redundant white elephant when their next model ships.

Works fine for other people
You need to see for yourself. All these people LIES. Anyway its sounds good compared to price. also its key velocity really sounds deep. IF it has 8 layers in one voice patch, I'll think about it. Need to see more reviews or I might get fooled.
Why pay so much money for this piano. That would be a bit silly, since 98% of the sounds in the RD-2000 are also in the RD-800. The differences include 12 Electric Tine Pianos, the 10 V-Piano sounds ... and that's the right thing to do. The rest of the sounds, and rhythms, are identical to the RD-800.

Yup. As someone who owns an RD-800, there really isn't a good reason to "upgrade" to the RD-2000. The V-Piano sounds are nice, but the screen is worse, and as you said almost all the sounds in the 2000 are also in the 800.

Meanwhile there are additional V-piano tones (regular update) and a lot more TW organ and synth tones (expansions from the Axial website). Furthermore the 8 internal / external zones are a great advantage compared to the RD-800.

Does it also have all the pad sounds as the Rd 2000?
God I love white people
The keybed might be the best, but the piano sounds are not the best. The Yamaha CP300 is better, the Kurzweil SP6 sounds better. And beyond piano sounds, the Roland is terrible at strings, brass, guitar, organ (horrible). If you just want a portable Steinway, then there are better pure digital pianos (Kurzweil Forte for example). If you want an all-around performance keyboard, there are better choices still. If you want a killer modern rendition of a Jupiter and a Juno then look no further.

Boris Chang The Best keybed out of all the stage pianos right now is the Kawai MP11SE. I'd personally just use whatever piano feels best for me and use piano software from the PC. There's a lot of software out there now that puts most of these stage pianos to shame sadly. Dexibell is actually a good alternative if people don't want to go for the software side of things.

@@ItsThatJahncke2 , I checked out a Dexibell a while back. Somewhere, there's a connection to Roland. The keybed seems to be the same as my Juno DS88 right down to the texture on the top of the keys. The glossy smooth surface of some other keyboards has steered me away from brands other than Roland.

CP4 sounds better, is lighter, has a better action and who cares about the aluminum chassis of Roland. So, the chassis will outlive the insides by about 200 years.

For the same price, the CP300 sounds much more real than the Roland. RD 2000. The Roland keybed is very slightly nicer. The Yammy’s is still pretty good.
