I love all your wonderful vintage synths, brings back memories when I grew up in the 80s. I also love your shirt, very colorful.

Thank you 😃😃😃
Nice man. I have made my own editor for my Korg DW-6000. But I use it cordless with my iPad. The trick is a WIDI Master bluetooth plug in my DW-6000. My editor is written in the usual HTML/Javascript for the Web MIDI API.

That is awsome man 😃😃👍👍
I finally managed to get hold of a nice Alpha Juno 2 this summer. After a tiny bit of TLC, I managed to coax the aftertouch back into life, so everything works on it now. It's an absolute gem of a synth. I can sounds SOOOO smooth and beautiful that it's easy to forget that it is the rave/hardcore synth above all, thanks to the "What the?" aka. "Hoover" patch. After seeing you use iPG-800, I am actually considering getting an old used iPad, and grabbing an IK Multimedia iRIG2 in order to get the midi-through, so that I can still send midi from my daw. It should still be a fair bit cheaper than buying a 3rd party (forget about an original Roland) controller. Great video as usual. Your enthusiasm is always very infectious :)

Thank you so much. And nice to hear that you can get some new life into the great synth you have 😊😊
Glenn, nice content. One thing I can recommend is CME Widi Master, they work well with IPads over Bluetooth. Saves cables and interface etc. use it a lot for managing my JdXI.

Nice video cool connection:)
Other options. Roland has PG-300 files to use with their PCR series controllers. 9 sliders and 9 knobs. Or Behringer BCR/BCF. The only problem with theses options is your are limited to a fixed number of controllers per "scene" and have to switch "scenes".

I had an Alpha Juno-1 back in the day. Yes, it was indeed a PITA to go through parameters and adjust said parameters using that lone Alpha dial, but it was what it was, lol. I sold that synth back in 2000. Seeing this and other videos on the Alpha recently are making me nostalgic to get one again, especially since there is now a virtual solution for that otherwise expensive PG-300. If I do, it will definitely be the 2 for the extra octave and velocity/aftertouch - assuming I can find one where those features still work, heh. One of the things I appreciated about that little synth was how clean it sounded, particularly when I would play through headphones via the Phones jack.

Thats a really Good reverb 😃😃😃😃
Nice video! I've always loved the sound of this synth and I actually own one since a few years, but at the same time I really like to get messy with knobs and faders and the likes ;) and having to do a large amount of menu diving or other overly complicated stuff just seems to kill the fun and creative vibe for me.. So this gave me some motivation to actually hook it up to my setup again because it's a shame to let it hibernate for so long (free of dust in a bag though) 💔

whaaaaaat?? no hoover and explanation on how it was made?? No mention of the pwm on the saw wave of which the alpha juno 2 i most famous? I almost want it only because of this interesting pwm 😅 Hoover is probably not a fitting sound in your synth wave set but remember that the hoover defined alot of the 90's rave sounds and is still broadly used today in several genres 😁 Love all you vids, Glenn ❤

🤣😃😃 Thank you so much 👍😃 As i recorded the video , I just got more into the sounds while playing them.. 🤣 And it’s been a while since I’ve used it .. so it was a tour for me as well 🤣🤣🙈🙈
This might be a silly question, but how do you add VST effects in real time to an external hardware synth?
@GlennMainMusic

No questions are silly:) You have to record or record enable a track in your DAW, and then you just insert it on the track as you do when you add effects normally 😃

@@GlennMainMusic well perhaps my question wasn't that silly, but I should have checked my cabling .. the outputs of my synths go into a Mackie 32.8 .. they don't go into an audio interface lol... that sort of explains it :P
What happened to Gaia 2? Do you still have it or ... ?

8:23 wow ♥ I've always somewhat hated the shimmer reverb effect because it's so overused (as in added to every pedal and I only saw bad demos or examples of it), but in this context it sounds perfect on that (to my taste pretty boring) patch

hi. is there windows 11 app?

I dont think so.. This is iPad/android app 👍😃
A part 2 would be nice where you cover how to connect it to the DAW at the same time as being able to use the iPad as well as how to load/store sounds/soundbanks to and from the Juno-1/2 Do you know what firmware you have on your Juno-2? And also what iPad are you using, and what adapter/dongle.
Grab a bluetooth midi dongle and plug that into your keyboard, they are about 50 euros but soooo worth it to have the ipad plugged in charging and or wireless midi.

Why is it that so many 'sound' people are clueless about recording their own voices for their videos. Horrible acoustics AND distortion here. No need for it. Even with cheap mics, it can sound better than this! - Shame shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame.
