Imagine if Marvel would just show these two in the way fans have always seen them. In a loving relationship without the love triangle nonsense. Give Gambit and Rogue a chance to be the rock solid relationship we all wish for. It still holds weight in the story to show a couple who never let each other down and fights for each other. Leave the drama to the Cyclops and Jean and Logan crap. But leave Rogue and Gambit alone for once.

There were plenty of love triangles with Rogue and Gambit before they got to the solid place they are now. Anyone remember Joseph? What about Rogue and Colossus? There were others. It's ok...they can let the story evolve. They don't have to end at the end.

It depends on the comic. He did in one story, and in others Rogue learned to control her powers.

After watching the show. From the first seasons to 97, I had a twofold feeling. On the one hand, as a Gambit fan, I want him to be with Rogue, but from a male point of view, I see that she does not deserve him. He was the one who invested in their relationship, if you can even call it that. Anna, in turn, did nothing. He could have easily found another one, but he didn't do it, and Rogue quietly traded him for Magneto. At the first opportunity. It's disgusting. She broke Remy's heart, said that they had been playing all this time, although it was obvious to him that this was not a game. I believe that she has no right to call him "My man" or to pronounce his phrases in any way.

their relationship was never official because she saw no future in it. gambit knew that and was fine with it. no reason for male victimizing. what you are saying here is she shouldnt follow what she believed as the logical choice as she has every right to do so, and make her decisions out of feelings, because thats what remy did, hence she has some sort of obligation to do the same.

@@barisbal7782 Gambit wasn’t “fine with it”. Language is very important. He put up with it because he respected her. That doesn’t mean he was happy about it. He wanted a relationship, she didn’t. Always mentioning intention but not consequence. The show runners Beau already specified that it was important for Gambit to die with his heartbroken and for him to feel unworthy. She has her right to do as she pleases but that doesn’t change the impact of it on Remy. So there is nothing wrong with Gambit fans disliking Rogue and or her actions. Their priority is Remy not her.

@valensblake2284 I´m X-tas fan too, and one hand I'm understand your point of view, I angry too when she said "My man" cause Remy didn't know it, but the other hand I think Rogue don´t have experience in romantic relationships, and thats why she can´t realices that Remy is right "some things be deeper than skin" due to her powers, Rogue chosed a safe bet insted fallow her heart. Now she´s gonna pay the price.

He respected her choice because he couldn't influence her decision in any way, so he just resigned himself. I believe that if she has feelings for Magneto, and she does, then let her go to Magneto and put all the dots with the Gambit. I remind you that several months have passed from the 1st to the 5th series. And all this time she hadn't talked to Remy. I am more than sure that he would have understood her and let her go, and not died. As it was, she kept him by her side as a backup. And then she broke Remy's heart, destroyed all their moments together, sucked in an old Jew and then abruptly realized that she had feelings for someone she had morally destroyed. This is the most disgusting character in the series.
