Didnt know that!! when I was growing up in high school everyone was listening to AC/DC or led zep and there I was with my Roger Whittaker and Neil Diamond albums! RIP!!

Sought this out after hearing that Roger had sadly passed away today. I remember my grandmother playing his music when I was a child, such a wonderful voice, all about talent and he made it look effortless.

A fitting tribute to Roger Whitaker, may he rest in peace.

Now it‘s the last farewell to you. You made the world a bit better with your songs. RIP.

Sad to learn that Roger passed away last week aged 83 in France

One of the last 1970's entertainers. Rest easy, Roger.

As a small child in early 70s Roger & Gilbert O' Sullivan were some of my first music memories .... Am deeply saddened by the death of Roger Whittaker what a great singer and writer his kind won't be seen again RESPECT ..... May he RIP 😞🙏➕️........

Roger may be the most underated singer of our time. He is such a talented fella and this song really showcases his voice.

My mother loved Roger and as she was passing away this song was playing and a smile came across her face. Thank You Roger!

Roger Whittaker will 'God willing' celebrate his 86th birthday next month (March 2022) A great talent who has had hits in almost every country in the world at one time or another. Olivia DI yeah. I was 10 years old when this song came out in 1975. Now in my 50s, still love it. My formative years.

Please live as long as those who love you Roger.

The way he set in the song in the blind is just fabulous.

A phenomenal gentleman there will never be one like him.

God bless Him for this song which is very touching. He is blessed with a beautiful voice. This talent is no longer found these days.

I had the opportunity to meet Roger in the early 1980s when he came to Maine to open the new concert hall in Bangor ... we had a great chat about his home country of Nigeria. I also have good memories of how that country took us in when we were evacuating from Ethiopia when Hallie Sallasie was dethroned ... God bless those warm people of Kenya. Later, in the late 90's, I saw Roger again in Asheville, North Carolina and we renewed our old relationship. Let's all remember we had some time with Roger ... and sing along with the Old East African Railroad and Harbor. Ken Jones ... oh, I am 91 years old andwouldd love to hear from you

Strange, I have listened to this 100’s of times but never until tonight heard the beautiful lyrics.
