Rodney had been writing hits as a contract writer and playing in Emmylou Harris' Hot Band years before Willie recorded any of Rodney's work. As for Townes, he was another product of the Emmylou machine of the early 70s. He was a legend among the Nashville and Texas songwriters from the early '70s on.

I saw these 2 guys last night in Ponte Vedra. It was a great show and I never heard the mandolin player make any mistakes. The tone was great. They had another guy on acoustic lead and it sounded full and fabulous. I never missed bass and drums for a single minute.

Maybe?...Border Patrol agents Ignacio “Nacho” Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean were involved in an incident where they fired their service pistols at a fleeing illegal alien drug smuggler near the United States-Mexico border. This event led to their arrest, trial, and subsequent conviction for shooting the suspect and obstructing justice by defacing the crime scene. They were sentenced to 11 and 12 years in prison, respectively, but their sentences were later commuted by President Bush in 2009 and they were granted full pardons by President Trump in 2020 ~ An American in Korea 🇰🇷

❤ This is great story telling beautifully done. I heard Willie Nelson do this from his new album and thought it was brilliant. I had to see who wrote it and performed it and it blows you away. I loved both versions. But if you write songs and stories like this you really have to work to screw it up. Absolute corker. That means bloody brilliant in case a few U. S. boys take offence. Just fantastic.
