I bought the Videomic Go 2 a couple of weeks back and used on yesterdays video from 3 ft in an untreated room. Applied bass boost from iMovie if people want to listen.

rode nt USB and a video mic go first gen
I’m honestly loving this mic more than the Rode Videomic NTG that cost more than TWICE the price! It seem to have a more directional pick up and I even love it more than my Shure MV7!
Fantastic video! Very thorough explanations! The audio on this mic is very crisp and clear.
I've been using this mic since about August of 2023, attached to my Canon camcorder. The difference in sound quality over the built-in mic is amazing! As my channel grows, I plan to use it in other ways, and it's nice to know this is an all-in-one mic for my needs. Great video!
I’m currently using the Shure MV88 on my iPhone 13 Pro Max! Yo Omar that ND Filter attachment on your iPhone for Moment lenses looks clean!
I just picked one up and the first tests have been great. I'll be using it over the next week as the main mic on my camera rig to record trade show interviews.
Such good videos, Omar. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for this video! I just ordered and excitedly waiting for it to arrive. Been using my old cheap microphone and it kept failing on me. This is a good choice because I can truly grow with it. I yet to own a camera that has audio jack, but probably one day I will. I like that this mic can be used as a table mic as well. Thank you so much. Truly needed this for my 10th video. I’m fed up of seeing my audio fail on me.
Mic looks awesome. Thanks for all the info.
What cable extension would you need to boom this mic out of frame using an iPhone?
Crazy I've been looking for this mic for a few days as I seen it on another video but didn't catch the name. Pull up KZread and seen this video! Instantly went and purchased it for my new KZread channel! Thanks for all the clear, well presented information!
Thanks for this Video. I bought one of these based off of the recommendation and it's worked wonders thus far.
Mic thật sự đóng vai trò quan trọng trong thu âm. Cảm ơn bạn chia sẻ những điều rất đúng. Đặc biệt những nhà sáng tạo làm nội dung thuyết trình... Chúc bạn nhiều thành công
Great! Really needed this information. Thank you

The mic sounds REALLY good. wow!!!

Great review and showcasing as usual :)
Really helpful Video, defo look at this one.😀👍
Very helpful, thank you.
Just used this mic on my latest video and I'm absolutely loving it! Definitely an upgrade from my phones microphone!
Just ordered mine, really excited to get it for fioming vlogs with my Canon 90D.
Its one of my favorites and I keep it in my camera bag.
What cable would I need to use this microphone with the iPhone 13?
What is the phone holder that you're using to have the mic sit on the phone???
Thanks for the video. All things very well explained.

Love your videos Omar.
GREAT Video Sounds Great !!
I loved the video n i have planning to buy one
Great Vid. Cheers.
I this mic sounds great for the price!! Plus being able to use with the computer is awesome
Just ordered mine and used your link in the description to give you a head nod. This is what I was looking for. Great review thanks!!
Sound quality is excellent.
Omar, can you do a review of the RODE AI Micro interface for IOS?
Definitely sounds good. Are you going to compare it to the Video mic go 1?
Something to note. The USB-C will not work with a standard C to Lighting cable. You need one of their SC cables.

I just got the mic and it's not working with my honor phone 🙃 what the hell I have to do with the cable 🙈😅 a starter video from rode would be nice, like first steps.

That would’ve been good to know before I bought another USB-C to lightning cable…
*Hi Omar! This sounds really good! I just bought the DJI Wireless Mic system. What is the lens that you have on your smartphone at **0:49** in the video?*
Great video 👍
Sound good😊
For talking head videos would you recommend this over the smaller Rode videomicro; and why?
Sounds CRISP
*i love RODE products. I own Both the Rode Wireless Go and Go II along with The VideoMic Go II and All of them along with my Rode Lavalier Mic Work AMAZING!!. Defiantly worth the Money & Value , Also I wanted to know what cord you're using to make the VideoMic GO II a Boom Mic. I wouldn't mine doing this myself but none of the cords that come with the rode are long enough and I don't know what to get to make it longer, if you could give me some incite on this that would be Great*
your video sounds super clear. I really don't know how to configure this microphone, it sounds the same as the one on my phone, but I know it's due to my ignorance. Do you have any parameters that you can recommend in connect/central? I wish I sounded as cool you
Awesome sir
I am using the Rode SmartLav+. Love it you can hear the difference from my first 3 or 4 videos before I got it were terrible. Then I did an unboxing with the first half using the cameras on-board Mic then switching over the the Rode SmartLav+ and all I can say is wow.
Great video!! How does it compare to Zoom H1n? Do you think there's any use for Zoom H1n if I get this and sell my Zoom?
Superb ❤️
What do you guys recommend to deal with the noise of the fan of a Mac labtop when recording?
thank you guys, it looks very interesting, does it work also with USB -C on a GoPro or a DJI action cam?
I love this! Thank you for making this video. Love the shorts, too!

great sharing 😍😍
Amazing video! I went ahead and ordered the mic with the Manfrotto mini tripod, but just a heads up the standard thread wont work with the Rode Go ll. You will need a thread adapter for anyone wanting to use this setup and set it up straight out of the box!
Great video! But I'm unsure which cable to use if i want to use it as a boom mic. The USC-c cables are generally pretty short, and only philm with my iphone. Any ideas?
Great vid. Does anyone know what lens is being used on the iPhone? 0:49
I just got the rode podmic how can I connect to the Sony zve 10 🙏
Does it work on the iphone 15? Usb c to usb c?
Thanks
is this an upgrade from the jacked in version of this mic? because my mic doesnt sound this good lol
What chord is used for extra length to boom the mic?
Vegas you say? I'll be there in a month for DefCon. Looking forward to the heat /s Mic sounds great for the price and seems quite versatile since there's no need for an external power source. Might pick it up.
I would like to find a long microphone cable likes in this video with the noise limiter
Wow... for $100 and it's both a 3.5mm and a USB mic... and Rode quality.... that's amazing!
Good lock ❤️❤️🤟🤛🤟
Thanks for your video! Would you recommend a mic to connect to my phone and can record kid’s recital when I sit at the audience and the performer is on the stage? I assume this Go II won’t be powerful enough? TIA
What stand is that for the boom set up?
Rode connect can’t be downloaded on my Mac . It keeps saying reopen it but it doesn’t open . Besides the rode mic go 2 I just bought . I connected it with my Sony ZV-E10 but no sound of recording at all . Im totally confused. Any leads would be much appreciated .
So if you buy a flash for your camera do you have to use one at a time? Or how does that work?
Am i wrong in understanding that only TRS Audio input can go into iphone and not the USB-c to lightning as you said ? Thinking to purchase based on excellent recommendation - it is a small point but need to understand compatibility before diving into purchase - many thanks
hi, is this mic available for record lion dance with noisy drum and others?
Your the best
What cable do you need to connect to iMac? I want to use it to record voice overs. Thanks!
What is that lens you are using with your phone?
It looks like you live in Rhodes Ranch in the SouthWest part of Las Vegas. I built 2 microphones myself which are better than Neumann top of the line microphones. It cost me about $100 each. Having a degree in Electronics helped.
I have one of these mics. I’m extremely impressed for the price. It compares well with my Rode NTG and my expensive Audio Technica shot gun. It is a little hot so I can’t use it on my GH5s in most situations but it works a treat on my GH5 ii and my GH6 because I can set the gain to -18 db. I shoot live theatre, concerts and dance shows.
Ok what accessories do I need to plug into my iPhone?
How does it work for like concerts and stuff like that?
Was that just a regular Aux cable when using it on the boom arm? Im a little confused if 3.5mm TRS cable is the same as an Aux cable.
Big fan of the channel! I am looking at buying the Sony ZV-E10 and trying to toss up between a 16mm or 30mm lens to capture my classrooms lessons for students who are away. Ideally, the camera will be at the back of the classroom. However, I want a lens that will capture myself, the whiteboard with a nice crisp look, no blur or out of focus shots etc. Any advice? Thanks in advance.
Where was this 2 months ago?! I bought a blue yeti nano….but I absolutely love Rode 😩😔 this yeti has given me nothing but issues on my stream.
Have you had any problems using this with the iPhone 15Pro Max? I get weird distortion even with the right cable.
Don't cover the "interference tube holes" on the side of the mic if you clamp it (3:18)! They are there to make the mic pickup pattern more "sharp" and "delete" the sound waves from off axis.
Where did you buy your rode videomic 2? Mine did not come with that rubber sleeve when I ordered from Amazon, and I’ve heard it’s needed to seal the back foam/windscreen from the back
Rode is on top of their game. That shock mount it’s brolic lol
Nice mic! How can you monitor the audio with that mic on?
Rode wireless go 2, and proud to say we finally started our channel;) no more letting for tomorrow
This is what I use on my ZVE10 🎙
Can this be use onnthe sony zv1f camera because I like the audio from the rode videomic go ll
Do you think this mic also works for filming talks/comedyshows from a little further away?
It is a great mic.
Whenever I join a live stream, the streamer can hear me clearly but I can't hear them through my android phone S23ultra speakers unless I connect a headphone through 3.5mm jack. Please advice, thank you 😊
Does it work with iPHONE XI ??? How is gonna be the AUDIO OUTPUT when paired with an iPHONE ??
Good video! Do you prefer VideoMic GO II or VideoMic NTG?
Would you recommend this or the logitech Blue Yeti Mic? because i can buy the blue yeti for 25 bucks more. thanks a lot
Any good for recording music and video simultaneously?
Is anybody else getting feedback issues using this mic? I was surprised when I first plugged it in that anytime my phone was nearby it would feedback like an amplifier. Never had any mic do that. Also you can’t use it on a phone without their proprietary cable, standard usb-c to lightning does not work. Anybody ever find that without the -20db pad enabled the mic picks up a TON of background noise? More so than even my phantom powered condenser mic nt1a. It’s almost unusable without the pad. Did I get a bad one?
I got this one, and why is it that when I watch what I just filmed, there is no sound ? (I have the Sony zv-e10)
How much editing in post was done to the audio? Would love a video on how you guys edit talking head audio in Final Cut!
