I agree. The $200 price tag lines it up well with the Shure MV7, but I think there are better options for the price.

Yeahhh, I hate that they increased the price so much, probably because people without an XLR interface will be more likely to buy it anyway as they’re still saving on that department, while people with one would just go for the XLR-only Podmic. I suppose it’s slightly less than $200 considering the windshield, though? Well, $340 after tax where I live

Can you use rode software with the og podmic ? i have a audio interface so can use xlr or usb

Two years ago you made me discover the *MAONO AU-PM421* (unless I'm mistaken) and I bought it and it was/is a very good microphone for the cost. (I just checked on Amazon, has a great rebate atm hehe) The only problem with the complete package was the mic arm which is about a bit over 2 feet fully stretched, which is very short in reality. You know of a 3 to 4 feet mic arm that is good and doesn't break the bank? And and thanks for this video, the Shure SM7B sounds the best imo, the worst probably being the Fifine K688. I'm not sure I need to replace my current one with any of these, but if I had 100$US the Rode PodMic seems to be very good while not costing an arm and a leg. 👍

Totally agree! And yeah, there are totally some good arms, but they aren’t $20 as that’s what you’ll get. I love this arm from Innogear. It has 2 different sizes and I use the large. I was researching mics for podcasting/reactions/livestreaming etc & like most, I felt pretty set on buying SHURE, but I couldn't justify the price tag for a project that may or may not be successful (monetarily). So more research led me to the Røde PodMic USB & I was once again set on that mic, just needed to save up for it. In the meantime, I learned about the Maono PD400X. Happened to have a sale on Amazon at the time, so I decided to just invest. I'm VERY happy with my choice! If anyone bothered to read this far down, just know that you CAN'T go wrong with many of the mic offerings. Just get the one that suits your needs. I personally can say that if you choose the Maono PD400X Mic, you'll be satisfied. The usual price is about $149.99, i got mine on sale for $129. The next day, as a prime member, there was a flash sale on it for $112. So keep an eye out & you can get a quality mic for a great deal 🤙🏽

I don’t believe they sell it separate from the PodMic USB right now

AM8 have the least pop effect. I find it the most easy to listen as i put my headset on full volume haha

I was surprised on how it sounded as well!

Do you have a USB C SETUP for sound? I have only found videos where they only use XLR audio interface setups ect. What is the difference? Any help would be appreciated, cheers.
