he turned Clubber into himself, someone who uses his face as a punching bag to tire out opponents

3 was a great sequel. Clubber lang was cool.

Rocky 3 to 4 is my top favorite of series,r.i.p Carl Weathers,your not forgotten 😢

Should have brought back Clubber in one of the recent sequels.

Rocky learned from his last fight with Clubber. Clubber got complacent and cocky when became champion too.

Loved how Sly decided to get away from the 15 round template in this fight and tell the story that in order to beat Clubber, Rocky had to fight at a high pace that he would not be able to keep up for 15 rounds, so the goal was to gas Clubber and put him away early.

The announcers make these fights. They are so underrated.

I was such a huge mr. T fan as a kid..i loved the a team..my mom wouldnt let me watch this rocky because he was a bad guy.

Rocky Balboa was my hero when I was a kid.

As a kid I believed this was real boxing. No man can take those punches to the head like that and keep standing. Great movie but unrealistic for boxing fans who know better. I love the character Clubber Lang because Mr. T was perfect for the roll.

Incontro fantastico. Film superlativo. Bravissimi tutti.

I've seen them all numerous times, and I still think the fight in 3 is the best. Stallone made it shorter than the others-a mere 3 rounds-and I know part of his reason may have been that this film had 3 separate bouts, so he didn't want to wear the audience out. But when both guys are hitting this hard, 3 rounds makes a lot more sense than having it go 15. Naturally, 15 is good from the standpoint that when you get to the final round, the audience knows something has to happen soon, if it's going to. But the fight in 3 is just about perfect....Rocky showing off his new style, Clubber displaying his trademark fury and power....and Rocky, once he gets hurt, reverting somewhat to his old ways, fighting more on instinct, but still incorporating the finesse that Apollo had helped to instill in him....Back in those first 4 films, as far as I'm concerned, Stallone could do no wrong.

I think this is how he trained to master his face blocking technique to eventually fight Drago

That fight will always be electrifying !!!

Always liked this fight..It was short and to the point and had great moves to it.

The best

Round 3 of this fight is the crucible. They each won a round before this. This is as much about trying to intimidate by exerting their determination verbally as it is with their physicality. Then Rocky wins the fight by psychologically crushing Clubber and taking his heart away.

Bravo!

Clubber missed about 20 punches in this round, or more accurately, Rocky dodged about 20 punches.

@@CJCrump You can say Apollo unleashed Rocky's full potential by improving his fighting skills and teaching him new training methods that he could incorporate for himself. We see this by the Rocky-Drago fight in Rocky 4. He used mostly his own style, but if you look close enough you can see Apollo's training incorporated into his strategy. He knew all there was to know about fighting by that point, and that was thanks to Apollo.

I think they should’ve had Apollo return as a coach in the 4th film and had another character get killed off by Drago. With Apollo and Duke coaching Rocky, Rocky became even more of a champion.

At around the 1:57 mark until Clubber is knocked out I count just over 100 punches that nearly all hit their mark. No matter if some say the fight isn't plausible, one can't help but move and punch in their seat while watching this . . .
