@@differentcreed5377 Duke would never have given up. He woulda kept on Rocky until he agreed to fight. I'm glad Duke never got his big fight money, but I'm also sad that Rocky never got his last payday. He did okay with the restaurant, but he's obviously not a rich man.

I really love that Paulie is Rocky's red line. Tommy tries to insult Rocky in front of his friends and Rocky does nothing. But when Tommy hurts Paulie, he crosses the line and Rocky goes into beast mode.

I completely agree. He goes from idolizing Rocky to distancing himself from him and not thanking him after winning the title from Cane to hating his guts pretty quickly. I think the problem was that the script was trying desperately to give audiences a reason to hate him without earning it through decent character development.

All of Rocky's opponents could've defeated Tommy Rocky would have easily defeated him in his prime or the same way but in the ring. Apollo would've made Gunn look like a joke, an easy knockout in the first round. Lang would've knocked him out in the 1st or 2nd round. Dixon would've knocked him out in the 5th or 9th round. and Drago would've effortlessly killed him in 2 seconds

Most iconic words for this film, "you tried knocking him down...why don't you try knocking me do!" I always get excited during that part

"My ring's outside." Is still my favorite quote of the entire series.

"Rocky you need some help" Rocky: "No guys ain't no pie eating contest" *Damn bro, the boys are just looking out for you; I wish I had friends like that.*

Rocky V is good no matter what anyone says. Loved this scene and street fight

1:05 When Paulie says he's not worth fighting, you know that Tommy sunk low.

It's interesting to see the changes that take place with Tommy throughout the movie. He goes from idolising Rocky to completely wanting to destroy him in the ring, and the changes are so gradual.

The first time we see a dark side to Rocky's character (and his years growing up fighting on the streets). "try knocking me down now..." That line is chilling. Rocky was uninterested in the challenge, the second Tommy hurt someone he cares about. His demeanor changed like a switch. Superbly acted by Stallone.

"You knocked him down, why don't you trying knocking me down." One of my favorite lines. Stallone is an amazing writer.

You know, I really wish we got to see Paulie get into some sort of street fight in all the Rocky series. This scene proved that Paulie is tough and can certainly take a punch

A very underrated Rocky movie. In terms of storytelling, this movie explains Rocky's reluctance to teach. And his willingness to try again.

Such an iconic line in cinema, "you knocked him down, why don't you try knocking me down now" crazy thing is to these actors it's just another line

try knocking me down, not out! Wrong words, and he got knocked down for sure, after walking away, never assume the fights over, until the opponent walks away, or can't stand!

2:46 one of the best Rocky quotes throughout the whole rocky franchise

Stallone actually admits Rocky 5 shouldn't have been made the way it was, because basically after what he went through in 3 and 4, he ended up right back where he started.

tvmoviefan yeah he did go through a lot but when it came to fighting he never gave up because through it all Mick and Apollo was always with him in spirit to see nothing but a tiger within him.

This incarnation of the Rocky series really does expose how certain athletes can be manipulated into making really bad decisions for their careers... Being a professional athlete is about respect and how you earn it, your talent comes second to that by a long way... I love this scene and the ending that follows it because it sends that message beautifully

R.I.P. Tommy Morrison. Did a good job in the movie and was a hell of a fighter in his day 🥊
