Rocky 4 was. Rocky 4 is essentially Rocky 3 pushing his body to its limits. Rocky 3 would've been killed by Drago. He could barely stand up to Clubber's punches. How is Rocky 3 stronger ?

@@NotSketchybaby Yeah, and even when Rocky lets Clubber punch him to tire him out, you can clearly see that each punch could put Rocky to the ground. Rocky has a slimmer physique at the end of Rocky 3 so he can move faster and dodge like Apollo taught him. But even while defending himself, Lang's power almost tore him off the ground with every blow. He would be destroyed by Drago under 2 rounds. He lacks the physical toughness he gets during his training in Rocky 4. If you think Rocky 3 was the strongest version of Rocky, then you didn't understand a thing about this saga.

No, Rocky 4 IS Prime Rocky. Rocky 3, Apollo trained Rocky teaching him basically everything both old and new skills and techniques while also training and conditioning him Rockys way AND Apollos way while also combining Rockys legit "Godly" durability, made him the perfect Boxer. By Rocky 4 Dukes told us that because of his training with Apollo, he doesnt need any practice cuz he already knows everything and that all he needs to do now is train. Because Rockys mind was already perfectly trained, he only needed to train his body and by the time he was ready to fight Drago, Rocky was the most physically fit hes ever been.

Eh...Rocky in 3 probably would lose. Remember that the training Rocky did in Russia in 4 was the most intense training he has ever done, even to this day. He literally NEEDED to do that training in order to simply withstand ANY of Drago's punches. And even after he won, he got brain damage from them. I don't think the Rocky in 3 has that type of endurance.

Rocky 3 version would’ve been slaughtered although still in his physical prime don’t see how we would overcome this type of strength in the ring without training like he did in Russia

Rocky was a much more skilled boxer here but he didn’t have the ability to go 15 rounds at that skill level, Apollo literally said that he had to win in 3 or he’d be out of steam against Clubber. For that reason, I think drago wins this one as it took working out in Russia to build that stamina. Otherwise, he wins on skill if he can take drago out in 3, which he doesn’t do in Rocky 4

Rocky wasn't much more skilled here his opponent Clubber Lang was just more of a brawler with less technic that's why Rocky looks more technical. Rocky from Rocky IV is stated to be in the best condition of his life in skill,strength,speed,stamina, etc and he barely won that match Rocky III can't compare.

The Rocky signature win move made me laugh at the end

Drago brought a Rocky that was stated to have reached a whole new level to his limit, he wins high diff.

Rocky in Rocky 4 is the only version that could beat Ivan Drago. All others are either too physically weak or just have endurance.

Rocky 4 is the best in my opinion it just shows how much Rocky really cared about Apollo and he didn’t throw the towel in when Apollo didn’t want him to showing that he cared about what Apollo wanted. But if Rocky had thrown the towel in Apollo might’ve been able to see his son Adonis creed

Rocky was older in the 4th movie.

It took Rocky everything he had to beat Drago. That and Rocky 2 were his peak performances, because it took him absolutely everything he had to go 15 rounds and win the fights. I don't think Rocky 3 Rocky would beat Drago especially because he didn't go through any of that intense training in Russia while fueled by the death of his dead friend who helped him out of one of the lowest points in his life.

In Rocky 3, Apollo while watching tape of Clubber says with his plan, Rocky's cardio output would last about 7 or 8 rounds. This is why in the final fight Rocky changes tactics to try and get Clubber to gas himself out in rounds 2-3, as he knew if he didn't he himself would eventually tire. This tactic would not work on Drago who was still trading haymakers in round 15
