I loved flying this aircraft. It's a flying box. But the weapons capability far exceeded it's goals. Machine guns, check, bobmbs, check, cannon, check, sidewinders, check, air to ground missiles, check, can carry a drop team or injured people, check. Low and slow. I have landed on a carrier with no arresting gear, dirt field, highway. It could do it all and for a long time. Plane was built for stamina.

We used the bronco in Vietnam to drop special forces out of rear fuselage. Occasionally we used them to mark exfil High value target pickup up points for jolly green but more often a AC-110. I'm more effective in the OV-1, a Mohawk. Our fob was named Apache junction. I switched to a Loach because the Huey's we're going down to often.
