I've heard reports of broken cables, crippling bugs, stalling at the tuner, etc. I've rolled over my cable a million times, moved it from my PC to my Xbox, etc... and it's going strong. I have had a few software problems, but most were fairly common and were easily found/fixed with a Google search. Issues which can't be solved easily in this way can be very frustrating - granted. All things considered... you can get this game and a starter electric guitar on sale for around $100 all in - which isn't bad for a self-starter method to play and learn guitar. Also, you can use the same guitar and game to play and learn emulated bass with the press of a few buttons. Whether you value this as entertainment or plan to use it to supplant or supplement lessons: If you play either the game, the instrument, or both as a result of buying this, it'll pay for itself pretty quickly. Oh, and custom songs.

I found way to use normal guitar cable and audio interface by microphone setting instead of buying the stupid overpriced cable.

I am stuck at the bending lesson :/ Regardless of how hard I bend it, the game doesn't recognize it. Might be a cable problem or software related. I have to see if the same problem is still there with the Remastered version.

this game makes you wanna learn songs on guitar or bass. So memorize all the notes of these songs without looking at the notes when you play them at the concerts.

I'm a huge music fan, been listentning to music since a child but I actually never played a guitar before. However im thinking of getting this game and a guitar. Any recommendations for a guitar?

+Megatron I was the same way. I started learning guitar (and other instruments) as an adult - after deciding that I wanted to be a participant and not just a spectator to the world of music. It's usually advisable to get your hands on a guitar and play it before buying; but depending on your budget, you have several options: Retail, pawn stores, or online discount sites. Even Monoprice sells cheap, passable guitars. Musiciansfriend is where I got my bass and keyboard, and my Strat came from a local music store. You want a guitar which is free of defects (of course), feels comfortable to play, and gives the right sound for the type of music you wish to play. So long as nothing is majorly wrong the guitar, a local shop should be able to set it up and/or put on fresh strings for around $30. Both the game and certain guitars go on sale regularly - just make sure you buy a copy of RS2014 which comes with the cable.

Hassan ever get a guitar? I’d recommend a starter pack which has everything including a practise amp to get you started. Also Rocksmith responds better with guitars with humbucker pickups(so I’m told). All my guitars are humbuckers which is why I couldn’t test that theory out. Also if you like a lot of Rock, humbucking pickups is the way to go.

Pls do bass I really want to know the intro for bass. I can't find other ones besides this one.

i didn't put any cable or thing into pc and i just opened the game. when i opened the sounds were weird. do you have any idea why? may it get normal when i put cable?

i get stuck on calibration even though the program picks up my guitar and works fine if i skip it.

I have a 7-string guitar. That shouldn't be a problem, right?

Matt Gellespie probably not, you’ll probably just be taught songs on the original 6 strings

they have one for drums.

Man I hope this is the holy trail I've been searching for(Better recording sound when I record my self playing along my favorite Soundgarden). I've tried different guitar interfaces with no success. They were basic guitar studios with a trillion knobs and switches that was just too hard too ever figure out. And I'm a PlayStation guy. Not Xbox. Never owned one. Do I need a $3000 Macitosh and an Xbox?

Can you have alternate tunings? Like drop d?

Yes. There are some songs with different tunings (especially drop d) included in the base game, and the tuner itself has a large variety of tuning options. DLC or otherwise, you can find plenty to play in any given tuning.

You need the Rocksmith 2014 game and the Real Tone cable. You can buy them together, or if you download the game, you have to buy the cable separately. It's a special cable made just for this game. You can get the game for PC, Xbox, or PlayStation. You will also need an electric guitar or bass. You will probably also want to buy some guitar picks. That's about it, other than your game platform.

david may please note i should of pointed this out but i was refering to left handed peaple because the way you plug in that cheepo cabble it diggs into your hand and bends it to the point of brakeing howerver if you are right handed you sholdent have a problem its not the game thats the problem its more of they need to make a better cabble

Arrow8D Sorry to hear about your troubles. I'd never heard of this problem, but it makes sense that a combination of factors like this - the bulky cable, a less than ideal jack location, and/or a different style of playing - could cause unexpected issues. I hope you found a resolution for your problem... or a refund. I'd suggest an input jack adapter, but I don't know how that would interact with the cable or your setup.

Bloom Smith puting a metal jack would fix the problem but my cabble is past its warente date and iv ben told many times from my parents that they would just get me a new one but i know itll brake in a few months to it wouldent be to mutch of a problem ither if there was a left handed gutar that dosent cost more than a left handed one because its costom built
