We plan on going back next summer. Want to visit all the top Texas beaches. The free ferry was pretty neat.

THis video was a beautiful walk down memory lane. I lived in Rockport (technically out in the county) for 7 years and 1 year in Aransas Pass. It’s nice to see some things, like Fulton Mansion, the cleanest beaches in Texas, and the Boiling Pot, never change. And I”m glad to see the old live oak is still standing. Wow, thank you for bringing back happy memories…I haven’t been back to Rockport since 2001.

We loved visiting this beautiful town. I kept telling my wife how clean and how nice everyone was in the town. We enjoyed our stay in town and have plans to returning next summer. What’s are some of your favorite things to do in town and too places to eat in town? I’m glad you enjoyed the video 😊

@@MrSTravelQuest Rockport was even better in the late 90s. It was a beautiful place to grow up and I admit my childhood there made me kinda naive about crime and racism and such because there really wasn’t much of any of that there. Times have changed a bit and the years have not been kind to the area, but I’m glad to see it is still a great place despite all that. There used to be a restaurant on the outskirts called captain Billy’s Wife’s Place. If you get a chance, loko it up. Captain Billy passed away years ago and the place was shut down after damage from, I believe, hurricane damage, but it was a favorite hang-out place for my dad and me. I remember so many weekends heading over there for an oyster po’boy or just to chat with the owners. I was so saddened to hear of its shutting down. Another great place not far away is South Padre Island. Not sure what it’s like these days, but this was an amazing fantasyland place for me as a kid. Never got to go to the water park, but we did frequent the beaches.

@@lovenothate I have to check those places out when we revisit over the summer. It rained the week before and plenty of spots were flooded. We have plans visiting South Padre and other places South of Texas. We enjoy making the content and sharing all the beautiful places to visit in Texas.

Thanks Reuben! If you go, check out The Boiling Pot. It has some great Cajun style seafood. The Fulton Mansion was pretty neat too.

Great visit, this area looks awesome for a trip to see all these points of interest. My girls love crab and shrimp so they'll love the Boiling Pot too. Awesome video y'all.

It’s a great area with plenty to do with kids. The boiling pot is a great spot if you love sea food. We checked out a few places after our visit on Goose Island.

It’s a nice beach town. The beach had small waves and mostly shallow. It’s a nice little town.

Old pier fishing tip if fishing for clean high quality fillets, for example Sheepshead... very hard to catch, needing small sharp hooks and 'special' bait. Hermit crab is your answer, find them at shoreline near pier entrance, break open, extract and cut into small pieces of bait . Second tip, take a hoe fishing.. not that kind.. use the hoe to scrape off barnacles at your fishing location on the pier to create a localized chum area.. when they churn in the water they will bite anything.. even empty hooks lol.. keep fishing

@@MrSTravelQuest Rockport beach isn’t as nice as people say though there’s a place next to it called the seawall and I found used syringes it just doesn’t have a lot of trash on the beach but you are right there’s a lot of cool hidden gems here
